  1. Was just saying that it's not specific to Mac's to be plug and play with tv's, both my XP and Ubuntu plug and play with my 32" LCD no probs although it's my Ubuntu that uses it and I use that to watch and view stuff off our local network. My point is that regardlss of what OS you use you can always do what you want, it's just a case of choosing which you like the best. E: My Opera is having issues with replying today
  2. It doesn't matter what OS you go for they ALL have software that will meet your needs, it's just a question of what you actually want to do with it. I use Windows and Ubuntu at home and while i've played with Macs I don't find any compelling reason to choose one over the other as they all have their pros and cons, I tend to Windows for personal use simply because of the abundant choice of software especially games but I wouldn't call myself a MS camper - everyone is different, go with what you feel like you'll be the happiest with. [E: @glenn] As far as connecting to tv's, I use Ubuntu to connect to my TV and that works a treat, esp using WiFi to access our network server files, also the MVP's and Media toys are also cool. So many optionsÂ
  3. It would chop down to 2nd then into 1st around 80kph and was a whole lotta fun
  4. That is so god damn true on the trackAs per above, I drove my old auto like that for years that when I had it, it's just fluid on the inside Used to love flicking it into 1 at 100kph and listening to it go mental on the engine bracking - I drive the manual considerably nicer than I did the auto but I think that's more because the slushbox was boring but it was definitely built like a rock solid shithouse.
  5. I think the sentence "drinking and driving" is a little misrepresentative as I have no qualms about having a drink and driving full well knowing that i'll be legally okay to do so. I think that almost every time that I have driven home after a drink I have been tested and have always been good. It certainly does scare you though when they say you've failed the <20 limit, it would be good to know what the actual reading is for reference sake. Of course the drink guidelines are going to be conservative and it's hammered in to people to be responsible but I think that scaring everyone (full license >= 20) into thinking that a couple of drinks of lager are going to put them over the limit is a little over the top. The ad with the guy having a couple of stubbies springs to mind. No I don't condone drunk drivers but nor do I condone scaremongering.

    Breaking News

Okay, again, lets go back to my other post, put our SIS aside and look at some facts: 1994: Belgium charged him with being "the instigator or the head of a criminal organisation" and two charges of using false passports. He was acquitted at his first trial but was convicted on appeal and received a four-year suspended sentence. While still under a Belgian home detention order which limited his movements to the street he lived on, he travelled illegally to Switzerland. The Swiss authorities refused his request for asylum due to his ongoing political activities 2001: France convicted him in absentia for "participation in a criminal group with a view to preparing terrorist acts". During his time in Malaysia, the head of the Algerian police services visited to observe Malaysian policing methods. Zaoui believed that this was a pretext, that the real reason was his presence in Malaysia, and that the Malaysian authorities were preparing to detain him. 2002: He illegally arrived in New Zealand via Vietnam on a false South African passport where in transport he destroyed that passport. On that alone I wouldn't let him stay, regardless.

SIS aside, lets not forget he illegally entered this country, so for that alone he should be deported.

    The Pyjamas Thread

Hmmm, almost there, only comes in black purple and red...I want white! http://gorgeouslingerie.net.au/prod782.htm
  9. Maybe it's your room Tim, bad Feng-Shui (sp), perhaps sh*t the laptop to another part of the room???

    The Pyjamas Thread

My thoughts on boxers actually, hate it when you get that nut pinch...
  11. So, who wears what? Currently its CK boxer-briefs but I want a pair of plain white men's satin pyjamas pants, like the stuff you see in movies right before the columbian drug lord gets whacked, but can I find a retailer that sells them here??? Not today, so gutted!!! I'm thinking images may be bad taste here...

    Wellington 7s

I only managed to get 2 myself but on our little home network we got 16 between 3 of us
  13. Normally this is the lithium battery and is very easily replaced. Alternatively you can set XP to use or not use world time to keep the pc up to date via the internet clock. How old is your lappie? Bring it down and i'll fix it upÂ
  14. Why not try Jeff Gray out? I've only heard good things about the new ownership so far. BTW, welcome to Wellington, you supporting Pheonix?
  15. IMO the lock motors sound stuffed although two at the same time is a big coincidence. Be thankful the barrels aren't stuffed!
  16. As said, your CV joints have probably given in with the angle but the loud bang sounds like your diff - mine made a very audible loud bang when it sheared itself and locked up. Can you spin either rear wheel freely with the other side locked?
  17. Japan doesn't have English as a national language and we've all seen/heard of the terrible Engrish over there so they're discounted.
  18. TYRE = Round rubber thing filled with compressed air TIRE = Continually reading poor gramma and spelling, listening to women on the phone etc... E: I know US still use tire, but the UK, Canada, Australia, NZ and SA say tyre, ie, everywhere but US
  19. Sounds similar to Glen's setup, he'd tell you what it is if he wasn't off overseas somewhere, his is in an E30 323 with the twin turbo 2ZJ supra engine, supra gearbox, and I believe supra diff aswell although not sure. Is a f'ing rocket.
  20. There's quite a few of us using the Direzza's including myself and mine have done quite well on the road and track and they look good.
  21. Why go louder, smacks of BR, but if you do then unless your 'silencer' is actually a catalytic convertor leave it there and replace the muffler with another resonator.

    Lock-out

I've just had a similar problem except I had both the barrel and the motor fail, ie, you could only lock the door from the inside. I had to replace the barrel and the motor - sounds like you just have to replace the barrel which (unless you want to use two keys or replace all the door locks and iginiton barrel) means getting the specific barrel for your key from BMW...$300+ for the barrel. Obviously you have central locking so bravo's suggestion replacing just the drivers barrel would be okay cause you could stick in an alarm that would activate the lock/unlock mechanism. Alarms can be more costly though, however, more user firendly and insurance discounts.
  23. Should just say the lag then - i'm sick of 200ms+ lag it makes online gaming impossible - or at least makes oneself an easy target. I don't want to turn off interleaving as you need it for error correction - but it doesn impede VoIP and gaming.
  24. I would say that judging by the windscreen sticker the car wasn't serviced at a BMW place. I'd suggest that it being a recent model you should get the car serviced now at a BMW place, especially for your own peace of mind, then you can definitely rely on the car's obc to calculate when your next servicing should be as BMW will use the specific oil and fluids that the car is designed for and hence calculates deterioation of.
