You need a "spacer" machined up as the cranks diameter is smaller at the seal. It's just a dounut really. There are exact specs if said dounut out there.. I've read that there are 2 types of m20 pistons you can use though, the earlier type needs a bit if work as it doesn't quite clear the crank. I've got a 2.8 assembly together and needed the spacer on top on new rods Would be safe to get new bearings, rings and seals. Can be done from underneath too, don't have to remove engine. Tune would be good but Ray told me you can run on 98 octane without.

Im not going to say they wil/wontl fit but itll be close...I'll check my clearances if you want? I've got 16x8/9 +7 on my E30...Needed to roll the guards a bit and they're a perfect fit, no rubbing on struts or anything it's barely a half inch difference offset and height wise compared to the 17's your suggesting.

Mine still works after installing MS...mines an E30 though I'd check guage connections are sweet though
