  1. Can't quite make out the number plate, is it "H1TLER"?
  2. Anything is possible if you want to spend enough time and money on it. Won't be an easy bolt on change though, all the metal work underneath the skin of the E70 is different to an E53
  3. Connected Drive covers a whole range of features, these latest ones haven't been available for years, even overseas. And they are provided free on new cars.Mobile phone is ok, but when you are upside down and unconscious how are you going to use it?
  4. But this guy was tough, set the damage mode to "on" before he went out.
  5. There is a vacancy at the moment if you are interested Amber, you would be an great candidate.
  6. I have driven and been driven in both, across the various different models and they are both good in different areas. Personally I would prefer the X5 as it seems to me to be a little more "sporty" if that's possible with an SUV where the ML seems more "luxurious". The comment about the Mexicans relates more to the very, very early MLs built out of the states that had quite a few quality issues until Merc got in there and sorted out the factory. This looks to be a later version which won't have those problems, just being a little tease.
  7. I would look at the first tyre and say "these aren't brand new" and back out of the deal. Auction states "brand new" yet the tyres have clearly been used, not much, but a bit - all the moulding bristles have worn off.
  8. Nice trucks, but beware they are hand-built by Mexicans.
  9. Can you wait until I get there to get the car scruitineered.. I just want to see the look on the guys face when he sees under the bonnet and all your Bunnings Motorsport accessories - Gotta admire your Kiwi ingenuity and love of plastic tubing though.
  10. How soon do you want it done? Might be able to fit it in my garage when the race car is back together.
  11. Hmm, diesel $1.39 / ltr 91 Petrol $1.99 / ltr 98 Petrol $2.?? a litre. No point owning a v8 and putting 91 in it, ECU will just retard the timing back and you'll lose a lot of performance out of. If you do more than a couple of kms a day, either in traffic or on the open road it will pay off the extra rego and RUC pretty quickly you'll find. Service intervals on the newer diesels are same as petrol and condition based, fuel pumps on most petrols are now HP DI and many have turbos too. Versus longer engine life on a diesel, higher re-sale value (like for like), etc. Horses for courses really, and personal preference. Buy the car you like driving the most!
  12. Would need to flare those rear arches a bit more to get enough rubber under them to make use of those numbers, or maybe he likes doing smokey burnouts?
  13. Bugger. Might still be interested, I think you can retro-fit the heating elements into the seats, let me know when you are pulling them out.
  14. that balance and handling...
  15. Exactly this, the handbrake shoes come up against the rear discs in side that large offset piece - you will see thm when you pull the discs off. Convert to a hydraulic hand-brake, or remove the handbrake completely, and it will free up your choice of rotors. Unfortunately Jason the standard rear brake set up is not good for extreme racing set-ups to balance against bigger front brakes and rotors.
  16. Small case LSDs are like rocking horse poo John, especially in those ratios. Brent at BMWorld in Papakura has a 3.91 med-case LSD up on trademe at the moment.
  17. Are your fronts heated Milan or just electric adjust?
  18. Countdown sell these in various sizes, pretty cheap, might work?
  19. Good to hear that they got you going again Geoff, those walls can bite pretty hard when they want. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy when good buggers come and help you out, especially when your car is suddenly not too flash!
  20. M3 clocks can be retrofitted, but are expensive to buy and the wiring is very different, so needs a lot of changes for signal inputs, etc. Not a plug'n'play by any means, but nothings impossible. I would love to know how much you paid for it, but really it's good news it is going to be re-born rather than parted out.
  21. Are the wheel bolts standard length, or extended? Cheers.
  22. That would be "Shuey" on his way down from the north to Hampton Downs. Number plate on the E30 is "DID IT2", lol.
  23. Do it properly, get it certed like it needs to be. Not hard. If you don't and have an accident your insurance company will find it a very good reason to not cover you and the Police will also take a keen interest in you and your case. Not worth the risk.
  24. How badly marked is the crank? Is it possible to get the crank journals re-ground and then over-sized bearing shells fitted. Always used to be an economic way or repairing an engine - provided you did the strip down and re-build yourself.
