  1. Pretty sure it will fit in place and all bolt up correctly, the only difference might be the number of turns from lock-to-lock for the rack. Would still get you a warrant though. Is it not easier / cheaper to stop the existing rack from leaking?
  2. Moved into more appropriate forum for you. And a free bump back to the top as well.
  3. I've got the first performance / go-faster parts from the US of A to go into the engine now. Can't say too much as it's all Top Secret and I know other 2.0ltr competitors come on Bimmersport sometimes, so just a sneak peak... At LEAST a second a lap right there!
  4. And expensive, don't forget that bit. It's all the silly little $5 and $10 bits that add up very quickly because you use so many of the little buggers to get it finished. Oh, and don't forget the dyno time to get it tuned properly.
  5. Yup, all cars are worth more in parts than whole. But, that is assuming you get to sell all (or at least nearly all) the parts, don't factor in any costs for taking it all apart and the Mrs doesn't mind having half a car on the drive for months.
  6. Needs to have a price please, as per the Forum rules.
  7. Price please, as per forum rules. That way you won't get stupid offers either.
  8. I think there is a E46 M3 CS in that colour kicking around, I think owner is on the forum. Certainly a nice colour, but not sure it's worth that much of a premium over an Msport 330Ci

  10. Do you really want to go down that road? I would guess maybe 100,000 houses are then released into the NZ market.. But what about all the other countries in the world that have let Kiwis buy property, they apply same rules, now 4m NZ citizens need houses (based on 8m+ Kiwi Passport holders, less than 4m living in NZ) even if only 10% have to return that's 400,000 people, or 100,000 homes for families of four.

  12. There was a 3.64 out of a 325i just failed to sell on TradeMe, the guy has offered it for $240, says there are no whines.
  13. Coming back next season, as part of the Penske Racing that will be joining forces with one of the existing team (DJR I think...) Penske are a big outfit in US racing, will be interesting to see how they go in Aussie.
  14. Converting it to what? The larger 7 Series (E32??) one? how simple / how much does that work out?
  15. As for which pads and which rotors.. Well that's a whole other discussion!
  16. Yeah, the sky is pretty much the limit when it comes to brake conversions, even on an E30. My suggestion would be to start with some very aggressive pads and slotted and drilled rotors front and rear, with some quality dot 5.1 fluid and a good bleed check of the whole system. This would give you a good improvement in bite and feel, without costing an arm and a leg, plus if you still want more then you can upgrade further when they have worn out. Bear in mind the E30 Series race cars still run standard callipers and rotor size, and they get pushed pretty hard for 8 laps or so without issues.
  17. How serious do you want to get, and how much do you want to spend? Street or track use? Lots of options out there.
  18. What brakes are you running at the moment? Vented fronts? Disc rears?
  19. Not sure about the side skirts - especially when you realise they are E36 skirts modded to fit, the rear skirt works well though. I love those rims, I think this car can handle 18"s with all the other mods, whereas most E30s would struggle with a rim that big. That engine bay and under-body are to die for though, amazing level of work and detail in there.
  20. 1.8 bar isn't very high boost pressure for a diesel either, especially on an N57, those figures are well short of where the boost should be. They do tie up with the fuel injection pressures though at 1800 bar and 2000 bar.
  21. Depends if it's referring to the air (boost) pressure, or the fuel injection pressures...
  22. Were a good outfit many moons ago when they were a small(er) specialist outfit that was run by enthusiasts, now it's grown into a general automotive internet seller run by a bunch of monkeys!
  23. From what I understand (please bear in mind this is what I have taken from others) is that it is also the heat cycling created within the wrap, the rate of heating and cooling of the manifold is greatly affected, not just the overall temperature it gets to in between times. This then acts as a form of "heat treating" of the manifold changing the physical properties of the stainless steel. Yes, it is a very good idea on a turbo application, especially where there is limited space under the bonnet, to keep the engine bay temps down and possibly improve the performance of the turbo-charging. My main reason for thinking of wrapping was to keep the exhaust heat away from the steering column, as it passes right through the middle of the headers.
  24. Pretty sure Oli has got rid of this car now as he is over on the GC. Milan, what Chrome bumper parts do you need, and what brakes as I have lots of bits of both?
