  1. Small case LSDs are like rocking horse poo John, especially in those ratios. Brent at BMWorld in Papakura has a 3.91 med-case LSD up on trademe at the moment.
  2. Are your fronts heated Milan or just electric adjust?
  3. Countdown sell these in various sizes, pretty cheap, might work?
  4. Good to hear that they got you going again Geoff, those walls can bite pretty hard when they want. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy when good buggers come and help you out, especially when your car is suddenly not too flash!
  5. M3 clocks can be retrofitted, but are expensive to buy and the wiring is very different, so needs a lot of changes for signal inputs, etc. Not a plug'n'play by any means, but nothings impossible. I would love to know how much you paid for it, but really it's good news it is going to be re-born rather than parted out.
  6. Are the wheel bolts standard length, or extended? Cheers.
  7. That would be "Shuey" on his way down from the north to Hampton Downs. Number plate on the E30 is "DID IT2", lol.
  8. Do it properly, get it certed like it needs to be. Not hard. If you don't and have an accident your insurance company will find it a very good reason to not cover you and the Police will also take a keen interest in you and your case. Not worth the risk.
  9. How badly marked is the crank? Is it possible to get the crank journals re-ground and then over-sized bearing shells fitted. Always used to be an economic way or repairing an engine - provided you did the strip down and re-build yourself.
  10. Blew the cob-webs out of the 'vert in the sunshine. Planned in a big service for her to make the most of the summer.
  11. Some good ones in there.. Sat Navy in impeding position - so many retards with them plonked right in front of them on windscreen. Blocking an intersection - even with "Keep Clear" written on the road some people just don't get it. Animal / Person on lap - yup it's really cool to drive with your lovely pooch on your lap. Why not let the dog drive? It's clearly got more brains. All of these I see all too often. Making them illegal MIGHT make some think twice. As for the loud music - might be aimed more at the doof-doof windows open brigade?
  12. Do you hear voices at any other times? Or just when you are driving your car...?
  13. Yeah, touring needs a different bar. The boot lock gets in the way of a sedan one.
  14. ^^ Sounds like the guy on TradeMe only wants to sell as a rear cut from the advert. I have the full factory wiring loom for an E46 towbar, over-rides the PDC, etc. Still new in the box with instructions, plus the 13-pin Euro to NZ flat 7pin adaptor if you need wiring on it's own.
  15. I think there were quite a few drivers that either missed the briefing, or weren't listening to what was being said. About time you put a cage in the 535 and came out to play with us more regularly anyways Brent!
  16. Very true, and most of these tools don't come with operating instructions either! That's why I stick to E30s, anything else is far too complicated for a simple sould like. Just ask M3AN about the cam locking tool after Jamez borrowed it ....
  17. Don't know what you mean Dan, everybody checks their car regularly between warrants to ensure they are in tip top condition. All those cars you see driving around that don't even have correctly functioning lights (which are how easy to check FFS??) are a figment of your imagination.
  18. Ah, right, re-read the original post so I was well wide of the mark. If you've still got the RRS as the hauler / tower then you've got that part covered sooo that would change the argument over to the M5, which whilst it is turbo'd it does still meet the 4+ ltr V8 requirement. No third pedal to push as a Pavlovian response to changing gear, but it is a DCT so no torque converter. Room enough inside for 4 adult passengers in comfort, plus decent luggage space for suitcases, etc. Good for long hauls with the very supportive seats which adjust in a million different ways. Can change the character of the car from cruiser to bruiser by changing the driving modes...
  19. An English gentleman, such as myself, does not "do skids". That type of shenanagins is the preserve of oiks, cads and ruffians. Still working on the exhaust, so not ready for a drive yet, bits have finally been made so fingers crossed on getting it all welded up in the next day or so. I need to get a few kms on the engine before the trackday on Saturday. Still having issues with the front swaybar, tried fitting an M3 sway bar but still clashed, so had to resort to giving the headers a bit of a whack with the hammer and putting some packers in under the links and mounting brackets. Have found the issue with the wiring, looks like I have a very early M3 engine loom and not a 320iS loom as I thought. So I know what I have to do to fix that bit at long last. It's going to be a busy week getting everything ready that's for sure!
  20. The thing is though Andy, they shouldn't get away with it, it doesn't meet frontal impact rules and shouldn't be given a WoF. But like a lot of things it's not picked up on. Probably a bit of a rant, as the first post might be a show only car, and never driven on the road. Plus it is a clever use of some vice grips.
  21. Because pulling a paddle is completely different to pushing a lever...?
  22. Great, engineers and designers spend hundreds of hours working out safer designs for a car and then someone goes and sticks that on the front. Might as well stick a jousting pole on there and have done with it. Almost as bad as those sad bastards that put the old "leaping cat" Jag emblem on their new(ish) Jaguar - there's a bloody reason they don't fit them in the factory any more!!
  23. An interesting choice of car for the swap, especially at that price. Any particular reason to choose that one?
  24. X5 M50d in manual is very, very rare. Factory only make them in auto, 8-speed sports version. Was one of the rules that it had to be manual? M50d has paddles, and can be run in "manual" mode off the shifter, does that count??
