  1. What do you mean? That 325i is clearly a genuine AC Schitzer and worth every cent of that $15k. It's got the badges and everything.
  2. To me it does look like the old model Quattroporte with a few tweeks around the lights and front bumper, etc. so more of an evolution rather than an evolution. I do like the current model in the flesh, and the two door GT is a good looking car as well so I look forward to seeing one of these on the road. I think the picture in the original post has changed it's aspect ratio, so it now looks like it is jacked up on off-road suspension!! Doesn't do the styling any favours...
  3. ^^ why would you? The 6 cyl diesel is a great motor, but the i8 is Supercar fast as it is. One of our guys was at the test track in Munich going pretty much flat out in the new M6 when an i8 went zooming past!
  4. I have heaps of ECUs, but I'm not sure what a RED 413 ECU is, can you give me more of a clue? Mods might want to move this into the "Wanted" section as well??
  5. ^^iSee what you did there. I wouldn't bank on seeing this go into production in 2015, or possibly at all... which would be a real shame as it is a pretty fantastic looking car.
  6. Launch video for the new M3 and M4 here... http://youtu.be/V1NsJ1zetzA Some nice interior shots, illuminated M badge in the seats anybody??
  7. I think my son has enough pieces on his bedroom floor to complete this... certainly will after Christmas!!
  8. To have cream on the top, you have to have a lot of milk underneath it. The cream would be... Aston Martin (any of them, from any era.) Jaguar old ones and new ones, not the ones in the middle TVRs - for fun and scaring you half to death Lotus' TR2,3,4,4A,5,250 and 6 Austin Healeys Ok, so most of them are no more and those that are left have non-British owners, but you get my point. It's all about horses for courses really, if we all liked the same thing, life would be ever-so boring.
  9. Well, it is one way of trying to hide the fact that you are driving a hideous banana shaped car...
  10. I remember reading an article about the US Highway Pursuit cars (can't remember the exact model for the life of me, so yank V8 mostrosity) and the average life span was 10months and about 60,000 miles before they were disposed of. Hauling fat cops, donuts and coffee was obviously a hard job!!
  11. Fixed! Running costs of a Ferrari, depreciation of a Massa and reliability of an Alfa!! Although that's not true any more now the Evil-Empire (aka VAG) have taken over the design and production of most of the vehicles - still assembled by Tonis though so you never know!!
  12. I can't wait until these arrive... A few more press shots to whet the appetite.. M4 in blue for me I think, might just order one "by mistake"..
  13. Annnndddd.... we're heading off topic!!
  14. Lots of Hyundai vans parked at the side of the road with those pesky cameras in already, maybe a few cars to go on the fleet as well? Nice and cheap, so tax payers won't moan (too much). Police will never use BMW cars because of all the bad publicity it would cause, even if the cars were practically given away (like the Govt Limos) the papers would still have a field day! That said the road cops do love their BMW motorbikes...
  15. Why would that be then? Nissan, Mercedes and Volvo are all in the V8 Supercars and don't build cars in Aussie, Ford USofA and FPR have confirmed they will still enter a car in the series after 2016. The Holden announcement won't affect the car that runs in Supercars at all, they bear no resemblance to any production vehicle as it stands with the new CotF chassis anyways. All they will do is run the race cars under the same name as whatever GM model they sell in Aussie as the replacement for the Commodore. I would be more worried if I worked for HSV is all honesty....
  16. Certainly will have a knock-on effect, there are a number of NZ companies that supply Holden directly, and many more that supply to Aussie indirectly. Un-believeably sh!t timing, feel for those affected.
  17. Andy Culpin at RaceFX used to have an M88 kicking around, not sure if he has put it into anything yet. And Zac Lawrence has a couple - one in his race car and one in his road car, might have a spare or be tempted to part with one? Very nice engines, but about as common as rocking horse poo now. Intrigued as to where you are going with this Moe - E30 conversion??
  18. Looks good, very aggressive - would need some serious performance upgrades to back up the 'show' with a lot more 'go'. Not sure about the expose rivet kit, looks too home made, but I am a huge fan of the factory motorsport version though..
  19. There are a few Commodes on the roads, but when you take into consideration even asmall assembly plant like Adelaide would need to pump out around 400 cars in a day (2000 a week, 100,000 a year) then you start to see the issues! Even the NZ Police can get through that many in a year. I saw yesterday that the US government has now sold its GM shares from the bail out, the nett loss was US$10BILLION for the tax payer, makes this Aussie figure look like chump change!!

  21. Have a look at the 330d sizing as well - I changed the fronts on mine and they were biiigg! More weight up front with a diesel, so often have bigger stoppers on the front to compensate. Rotors and calipers should be bolt-on replacements, but just watch the balance between front and rear braking pressures, may need to change that as well. EDIT: Just checked, same as the 330i!!
  22. With the clamp on the EGR pipe, are you prying the two halves apart after you have un-done the screw? It's not like a normal pipe clamp / Jubilee Clip, The clamp is in two C shaped halves, which do tend to stick on to the pipe. Use lots of WD40 or freeing oil and get a small screwdriver in the join and gently prise them apart - only then can you get the flanged end of the pipe out from the clamp. (Hope that makes sense - not easy to describe) Just a quick search on eBay UK, these are not the ones I have, but similar. Why do you want to go 17"s? I have the MSport suspension and the 18s are still ok, even on the rough kiwi roads. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18-CSL-style-wheels-BMW-3-Series-E36-E46-E90-E91-E92-E93-Touring-Compact-/221209716175?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&fits=Car+Make%3ABMW&hash=item33812065cf#ht_2314wt_3974
  23. Yup, just checked the sales figures - the EcoBoost is being outsold 10:1 by the XR6 on its own! The market still hasn't got around the stigma of a 4-cylinder engine in a large car. But yes, still to be confirmed, and being strongly denied by the State Government.
  24. I had to do a double take there as that photo looks EXACTLY like my wagon outside my old house in the Uk - pretty freaky!! Before I brought the car over I had a set of those CSL reps put on it, they are pretty cheap in the UK, 600 quid with tyres fitted and balanced for a set of 18"s pretty easy to clean. Look pretty good on the wagon, and not very common wheels, so look different.
