  1. I have a 325i diff sitting in the shed doing nothing, and I'm just around the corner from you in Cockle Bay. Sure we can sort something out if you're interested??
  2. Very clean red E28 on BBS Bugatti seven spoke rims in Cockle Bay School car park. Pretty sure I have seen pics / mention of it on here, looked for the owner to say Hi, but no-one around.
  3. If you want anything moulded, you will need to invest in the tooling... a half decent tool from China for an E46 grille would be about NZ$50k, and you would need a tool for each side...
  4. That nearly got me into trouble at work... so funny... and so true!!
  5. Interested in the 5-stud conversion, what size are the weaves that come with it Jono?
  6. Unfortunately it doesn't, it has exactly the opposite effect, people who previously could just about scrape up the money for WoF and Rego now can't afford the insurance as well, and don't bother with any of the three (this has been found in insurance / rego / MoT blitzes in the UK).If they get caught, it's just another fine (that won't get paid) to go on top of the fine for no WoF / Rego / Driver's License / driving while disqualified, that they will get for the third time anyway. No detterent there I'm afraid.
  7. Might be worth checking if the "Motorsports" still have the M-Sport suspension in them, it is a commonly deleted option, so although an M-Sport edition it is running on standard suspension.I know my wagon is definately on the M-Sport set up and I wouldn't describe the ride as enjoyable around town. Good on the open road though
  8. Checking out the opposition Jamez??I hear there are few E36 V8s being built, could be one of those?
  9. Must be, can't be too many yellow M3s with start / stop buttons added to the front ash tray??
  10. Not sure this happens though does it? They go to court, plead poverty, wife & kids to support, etc. no real assets - Judge says: "ok pay it off at a dollar a week for the next 1.2million weeks"If people can't afford insurance, then how can they afford to pay off the cost of the damage?? Very hard to get costs back from people that have no money. NOTE: not saying that this is the case here, but I have come across this several times.
  11. Pretty sure the 116i is a single turbo (also the TwinPower turbo is a twin scroll, rather than two seperate turbos) still puts out 100kw from 1.6ltr or 136hp in old money. Not bad in a smaller car like the one series. The 125i is a nice little pocket rocket with the 2.0ltr turbo, so it will be interesting to see what the M Performance version M135i will be like, could be close to the 1M in terms of performance.
  12. Looks like it could easily have been so much worse in terms of people hurt, fingers crossed the two guys in hospital recover soon. All because one person decided to make a silly move... ends up looking like something from an action movie stunt. It's going to keep a few insurance companies busy for a while, no-ones going to want to foot the bill for this one.
  13. Very, very similar, but I don't think it is the same car. One I saw had "Powered By M" stickers on the side under the indicators and under the M328i badge on the boot which I can't see in the photos. Pretty sure it didn't have blue fog lamps either.
  14. Oh dear God, no!! Worse still it'll probably end up as an option I have to spec on every damn order! Wonder which is best for preventin road rage??
  15. Is e30chris anyone on Bimmersport, or anyone from here know who it is? Trying to get in touch with them about some moulds they are listing on TradeMe but not getting much luck before the auctions finish? Anybody...? Anybody...? Bueller...? Bueller..? Anybody...?
  16. Tidy looking black E36 328i Sport coupe on Te Rakau Drive this evening, with E36 M3 Evo rims. Being driven by a tidy looking young lady Only downside was the M badge added to the badge on the boot!

Nice work James - glad it all went well for you in the race! I'll bet Chris won't get a look in the season?? With the oily residue on the slicks - did you use anything to clean off the release agent from when they were made? Usually has some kind of silicone wax in it that stays on the tyre. I use CRC and a micro-fibre cloth to rub it off before scrubbing in. Just a thought...
  18. Post a pic up of what bits you want - I have quite a few different ones kicking around..
  19. True, couldn't see that you were down in CHCH. There should be local shop that can make one up for you pretty cheap? Give them the old one to work off?
  20. If you can post up a pic, I have quite a lot of brake lines, no idea which goes where though...
  21. Keeping it realistic and ignoring the "supercars" that people have been listing, looking at other cars that are around which could be alternatives to my current BMW are scarce. Lexus just don't have the same feel or charisma, even the IS-F (whilst it is fast) doesn't thrill in the same way for me. Mercs are more cruisers than drivers - and the current styling is a bit off key for me. Forget anything built in Aussie - far too backward technologically. The only two real options would have to be either a sportier Audi (not driven one for a while, but certainly the looks have come on in recent years) or a hot version of a Euro Ford - Focus RS or Mondeo. Either option would have to be very convinving in long term test drive for me to want to make the switch though.
  22. Took all the crap out of the boot of the race car (used for storage of spare parts during house move) and wiped all bird sh*t of the door & mirror of the touring. It appears there is a local bird that sh!ts itself every time it sees it's own reflection...
  23. Personally I have never been a fan of Mercs, but that 500SEC is the one shape and style of Merc that I quite like. Never seen one with a "widebody" kit on it, even that one of the Prince of Monaco doesn't have the wide kit from what I can see in the photos. Price does seem a little steep, yes it is rare, but how much of a market is there for these? E30 M3s are more expensive for a reason - there are more of them, but they are very, very sought after. As for that 190E 2.5-16, I know all the history, I know it's a DTM homologation special but I just hate them - they look so plasticky with all the add on bits, boy racer Honda + a kit type material. Plus the base 190E was such an awful, boring old man's car.
