Jacko replied to SUSPENSION's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Konis are 345+GST front 220+GST rear, per shock. 51mm fronts, sports. As of a few weeks ago when I called stocks. -

$400... $600... $800.... Is the price of these getting stupid or what. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-330279059.htm Some clever chinese factory needs to start pumping out new E30 dashes.

WTB: e30 Coupe Driver and Passenger Seats (Coupe)
Jacko replied to bmw.maniac's topic in Want to buy
You can have my E30 coupe seats, theyre mechanically sweet. Passenger seat of mine is fine, drivers is a bit rooted, but looking at it you could possibly convert a pax seat to a drivers seat by swapping parts. -
For future reference - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-328412991.htm

Google had a link comparing the two, essentially strong-flex=powerflex for less $. Ill post some pics when mine turn up, this week sometime I assume.

First of many orders turned up. 3 Days from Denmark to NZ, 1 week in customs... Boxed up very well, all the stuff looks schwwwweeet (including the scheidman branded stuff), and was a shed load less $ than ordering through BMW NZ. Very highly recommended.

Had a shave today, to get the mo happening. Got a bit excited and accidently lopped off half a handle bar. Doh.

Hey ive got a degree in Mus musculus fecal matter identification. Got it from an interwebs university. If everyone knew everything, what would the point of a forum be?

Yup, I got the same answers last night too. They all get sent as a $200US gift, so no duty/GST/BS on this side which is nice. At least they are fast to reply to emails. Sounds like the reason for the VAT charges is due to extra paperwork for exporting.... Took just over a week from payment for the bushes to leave poland, which isnt amazing but isnt shedhot either.

Chur, its shaping up OK, looking like the plan is gonna be something like this - Engine/Swaybars/Clutch/Exhaust etc all done in December, then im off to Seattle then melbourne for 3 weeks. Once back Ill put the car back in the workshop, do the suspension (havent worked out what im doing yet, coilovers/konis+H&R's or soemthink) pull the custom headers out and send them to HPC for coating. Strip and rebuild the brakes (or might just get new calipers all round, they arent too badly priced) Then stick it all back together again... Then work some EPIC OT and send it off for rust repair, panel and paint, likely to be a 6G bill (paints rooted and shes getting well rusty in the rear gaurds, below the RH tail light and RH B pillar.....) throw some new head and taillights at it along with new badges and a genuine Alpina type 147 front bumper, new window rubbers and trim, and maybe some stripes And thennnnn.... drive it until it gets boring and needs FI

Powder coating FTW. If your in central auckland, highly recommend Youngs powder coating in onehunga, I feel bad about the price this cost, A can of VHT would cost more....

Mouse with the shits is my guess.

Most chinese places do this without blinking an eye, dunno about the EU though.. Got a reply from strong-flex, Some weird $1000USD minimum order for no VAT, which makes no sense too me. Smells like something fishy going on, but theyre still good value for money. Hopefully they are good bushes too

http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/taxat...ks/index_en.htm http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/actio...;type=RESOURCES From vat website - Ive emailed strong-flex to explain why theyve charged VAT and asked them to refund it I pay enough tax
-
Im confused about strong-flex, They should only charge VAT within the EU, but they wanted a company number etc to not charge VAT too me, when they shouldnt do as its being exported out of the EU. They charged VAT on my order and im fairly confident they shouldnt be. If i did it again I would challenge them over it, I think there maybe some sorta language issue, the emails they sent me had lots of funky polish words - say Przejazdowa ten times fast... In terms of importing to NZ, stay below $400NZ dollars. It goes straight through customs and ends up at your door with no extra fees/delays/pissing around. Above $400NZ, they will charge GST and Duty and processing fees etc. I cant even remember the rates, best bet is too avoid it I cocked up an order to schmiedman last week, broke up a big order into chunks. One chunk was $522NZ charged to the CC (140 odd NZ shipping). Customs broker called me today and the duty owing is $150NZ to give you an idea. FWIW - Schmiedman didnt charge me VAT, so dunno how strong-flex can. Its all the same EU rules.

Could be done, Ive sent model planes bigger and heavier using fastway couriers before, they werent too steep price wise, be less than $50 at a guess.
-
Bump. Im very open to offers. Proceeds will fund the beer/fluids for the M50 swap, and I get enough greif for filling up mates workshop with old BMW bits Can possibly work out delivery of the engine in the Akl region.

Damn its cool though! Whats the story with the WOF? WOF expired 5 months 1 week 2 days ago on 26th May 2010. If my POS passed a wof last week, whats wrong with this weapon?
