  1. debatable... https://www.bmw.co.nz/en/all-models/2-series/activetourer/2020/bmw-2-series-active-tourer-highlights.html
  2. Have you tried a 0-100 time with yours yet? Im curious to see what the difference to mine is, and auto vs manual. Throw torque pro on that android headunit, works pretty well. Should be pretty similar, I think the LSD (and not sh*t RFT) is the difference to my 5.4s and the stock low 6s times. Slowest point with mine is the change into 3rd, which is right before 100kmh (painful)
  3. A 118 you mean? A 130 is barely any slower than an E36 3.2 M3, plenty of videos on line of 130s nipping at the heels of E46 M3s!
  4. Fold the seats down = shooting brake with better load access
  5. CCV systems commonly sh*t emselves, and its a very different system between black and silver top N52s. I actually think failed CCVs kill DISA valves by soaking them in engine oil, the ones in my car are original and look new (at 270,000km+). There are aftermarket DISA valves which are cheap, or they can be rebuilt too, both are a couple of hundy max. To replace both vanos solenoids is 2 bolts, 5 minutes, and about $200, and provided you regularly change the oil will last forever. Valvetronic, for such an oddball idea, is relatively problem free, other than gasket failures (which come with the rocker cover gasket kit) Waterpumps and thermostats go, but its primarily at random rather than xxx km, normally they will both throw random canbus errors a few weeks before actually failing. Gets way overhyped as a big expensive job, its 4 hours work and with some shopping around $500ish in parts.
  6. For that sort of money, Id be wanting headlights that werent UV damaged...
  7. RWD hatch, (pretty much in a class of its own), relatively light, brilliant engine, fun if flawed chassis that can be easily fixed, manual gearboxes can be had and available for peanuts at the moment. N52 is far better engine than N54 in every aspect other than power output, and comparing penis dyno sizes, and how often do you get to use more than 200kw on the road anyway? Got a link to that, if you look at zeperfs, 130 is faster than MPS (and way faster than Mx5) around all the tracks they list. I dont understand why E36s get so much attention... slow, unreliable, uninspired things.... if they werent so unreliable they couldve come out of any of the generic japanese 90s manufacturers

    Busted!

Thats going to be one hard sell... Its probably worth half what the asking price is...
  9. Is 135k high ks these days?.. Mines over double that Got some nice bits, and heated seats are actually pretty rare on 1 series (if a bit pointless in NZ) 10k is cheap, I bet its been on the market for so long as was listed under specialist cars on tardme for a while (which no one really looks at). Its going to be really interesting in a few years, to see what people are paying for 130s. I bought my first car in like 98, paid $1000 for it, a straight unscrewed with AE86 trueno...

Emailed birds, who recommended using BMW brake lube, handily enough I have a bunch

Your bushes red with the cloth inner surface? yeah I do it on ramps, not that big a deal with the sway bars as they can rotate even when tight, so no preloading. My front swaybar is 28mm, wonder if E93 M3 bushes will fit.

    Quick rant thread.

Creaking polyeurethane sway bar bushings, eibach flavour with the cloth impregnated surface. Got about 2 months out of the eibach grease before started creaking, replaced it with superpro silicon based stuff, wihich lasted about a year before creaking again, so I went to copper based anti-seize,... creaking again 6 weeks later. Is there any grease that actually works for these things? I have no issues with the rest of the polybushes in the car, which are just straight Superpro PU, but these eibach ones for the swaybars are a pain in the ass.
  14. Nice one, thats a good car, and has some nice bits on it. The seals and dust boots on the 135 calipers are cheap and easy
  15. Stock M sport, it looks a little lower than normal though so likely just a little flogged out (bump stops look very dead) I run Birds B1 dynamics (custom valved bilstiens with eibach springs and swaybar, and the qauife diff), with poly bushed everything, and M3 LCAs. Its pretty much perfect for NZ B roads, as its not over damped or sprung. Not cheap, but I would definitely get it again. There is a really good suspension thread on one of the 1 series forums, where one guy changed suspension setup multiple times. Worth reading, it depends very much on what you want, cant search at the moment, but have a googles.
  16. Gives 1mm more lift, for more vtec yo.
  17. Keep the 944. 35 year old 4 pot in that will be more reliable than 9 year old 4 pot in the 120. Get a 125 if you want a coupe, or 135 if you want a fast coupe, or a honda integra if you want a 120
  18. Going to have to open the rocker cover and check for MILVs now..
  19. Might need the bushings changed? I ditched all the stock rubber bushes in mine and went teflon ECS tuning ones, not expensive and is pretty slick. The stock shifter feel is normally pretty reasonable though, they could be shagged. Not expensive anyway.
  20. The 2007 manual one is a guy on BMW 130 group on facebook, good fella and he has spent some serious coin on it. Has definitely been looked after. The 06 one with the quad exhaust has been on trademe for a long time, it started out priced at something like 14k.
  21. Spotted one of these on the motorway today, sounded EPIC... very cool car (and one of 8 in world??!) https://www.autoblog.com/2018/03/06/morgan-aero-gt-limited-edition/#slide-1337219
  22. Ive been debating about going and grabbing it myself... whats another N52B30 in the driveway... Wife would probably stab me though. Im down in Takanini, but if you want a set of eyes to look at it, hollah.
  23. In a sea of front wheel drive go fast hatches, I guess having correct wheel drive makes up for a lot!
  24. Tiff Needell rated rated them in top 10 to buy now as investments. 5th gear had an episode this season, which lined a 130 E81 up against a bunch of the other "superhatches" of similar generation and 130 was voted best car. Considering when released they got praised for the engine, and dynamics, but weird looks and small boot (clarkson), and the R32 golf Mk5 considered the better car.... they seem to be ageing better than the competition.
  25. One of 13 NZ new manual 130s.... Interesting it didnt get the aero spoiler, only one Ive seen that didnt have it. The rest of the options are the same as mine, its only roughly 150 units post mine which was built Dec 05 and 06 registered in NZ. $7500 is stupid cheap. Just looked it up in NZTA records, 2 NZ new in red, one manual. For the future reference, EZJ977, in 20 years when they are worth 50k and people are arguing about if they are really worth that much on futurebook
