Yeah, 1mm more lift, but needs a tune to take advantage of it or the valvetronic just adapts the extra movement out. Seems to be roughly 10hp across the board. I saw the guy is also working on some new camshafts. With MILVs, headers and a tune, 300hp seems plausible.

1200km in one day...

Good old fashioned bedding in/back road abuse today. They work nice, no squeeks/squeeling/weirdness. Bite hard and predictably, more feel than stock, and I couldnt get them to fade on the road (I could make the old pads start to fade on same road), pretty impressive for ceramic... couldnt really ask anymore out of a road pad! Tomorrow is about 12 hours driving in one day (Akl-New plymouth-Wanganui return), will see how they work down the coast

I use AMI, they're OK to deal with and didnt bat an eye at my car (previously had engine swapped E30 with them, and modified WRX with them too) They also do agreed value rather than market if asked, for a reasonable rate.

Has anyone come across any good information source for an N52 rebuild for the home gamer, Ive spent 5min googling but not found too much. Ideally id like to pull the whole shebang to bits, curious about stuff like how the bedplate seals to the block, and if its something doable by the home gamer, critical dimensions/tolerances etc etc.

All done, just waiting on the stainless lines now. Cars at 265000km now, thinking the next project will be to get myself a N52B30 long block and rebuild it with MILVS, and some nice headers, and a BPC tune. Maybe even swap engines first and rebuild the current one, it runs mint but Id like to see what a 300,000km N52 looks like inside.

2 Series active tourer, they're as nasty as they are ugly, and the three cylinder one I see around sounds like its chewing on ball bearings. Been around for 5 odd years, luckily they dont seem to sell many.

Both cast then machined, the chinese ones just done better

Zimmerman Sport Coated ( Slotted / Drilled ) Brembo Sport Coated (Slotted / Dimpled ) The Zimmermans are nicely machined, however the inner side of hub isnt deburred, neither are the slots. Finish inside the vanes is OK. The Brembo are machining Artwork, not a bur on it. The coating on the wear surfacea is different to the hub. They spent some time making them... AvE would say Skookum as frig. Ones made in China, the other is German...

Yeah, Im pretty sure they are a harmonic thing, they're heavy steel, either for noise or for a vibration at a set resonance? No idea.

I have some Zimmerman sport coated and Brembo sport coated rotors in front of me, will post some pics later, its interesting the difference between them. Its very apparent there are Brembos, and Brembos!, even in the same size/application.

Pretty good outing considering he had 1/8th the marketing budget, He's already said he will be standing again next time, heres hoping he can get more traction next time around. Its pretty amazing how the media affect who sees what, the whole things so slimey.
