what year is it , facelift or prefacelift early cars can have the timing adjusted , maybe its too far advanced. or fuelling is up the crap , running to lean . get a mechanic to check the timing also get a gas analyser plugged into it to check the co2 etc could be worn out afm , vacuum leaks , bad temp sensor etc or maybe the head has been off and planned to much to raise the compression etc
-
also check for vac leaks , airpipes that have come off or cracked etc
-
if they are genuine dvd's they are copy protected , you would need some dodgy software to make a copy of them 1st on to your pc then copy to a usb

Question about E36 manual conversion part compatibility
BM WORLD replied to slideways's topic in Performance
just cross reference the part numbers on the bmw parts websites. but yes the 2 shifter rods are 25mm longer in a 4cyl kit than a 6cyl kit driveshaft can be closed up , use rear of the 6cyl one . clutch wont be strong enough for a323i 325i 328i etc -
had some wheels cleaned up today 18" M-pars staggerd set of 5 also worked on the convertible yesterday in a hail storm while removing a part for a customer
-
pulley bearings stuffed , seized etc , slack tensioners etc etc .
-
should have some luke 021433600

small update , had the car with gavin at hi velocity had the ecu remapped to suit the new headers and exhaust sorted out the dips in the midrange , fueling and timming sorted etc runs a bit smoother now , pulls strong from 3k rpm all the way to 7k rpm now doesn't flatten out like it used to at about 6000rpm etc peak torque around 4500rpm to 5500rpm peak kw around 204rwkw , but saw 211rwkw but that is maybe not refigured etc ?? pretty happy with the result std m30 535i engine make around 110-120rwkw std m88 engine around 150-160rwkw so not bad improvement over stock. making similer power to a well set up e36 or e46 3.2L M3 engine but at about 6000rpm not 7000rpm just need to sort some better rubber now :S

yes part 15.. yes stuffed shocks will cause it to shudder too , I have same issue in my e34 540iT at the moment getting swapped out as we speak
-
also the idler arm bush on the left side flog out and the track rod will rise up m causes the left wheel to shudder in some corners etc
-
I use AA classic cover for my e28 . agreed value costs about $200-250 a year for 20k cover . 5000km a year no windscreen cover normal cars costing about $500-700 depending on value and age etc
-
have some new ones approx. $250- $300nzd takes about 1-2 hours to swap out
-
get someone to wiggle the steering wheel back and forth while some holds the uni joint in there hand you will feel the knocking in it . has any one checked the steering box itself?? the track rod ball joint under the steering arm as well , put your hand around it etc . really need it on a hoist someone doing the steering wheel while someone is underneath with a good light and eye etc
-
maybe someone tried to jack the car up from there , or backed up over a pole etc
-
part 7 is a common part that wears out , have replaced a few of these over the years in e28 e34 etc. when you remove them you can feel the play in the universal also the bottom balljoint on the track rod(centre drag link) get a lot of play in them .
