  3. also the e46 use a big old horrible GM trans not the jatco type like used in e36 's and i sell and get asked for plenty of them from e46 owners , where as the zf's are much slower selling and seam to do a lot more miles before needing work
  4. also seen at McDonald car park in Greenlane while waiting for the bmw club drive , but yes it's a papakura car
  5. have some new and used 021433600 papakura BM WORLD LTD
  6. dont be to scared by the millage this one has been looked after has mostly dealer stamps all the way through in the service book and drives like its only done 100k's etc always buy on condition not millage 2nd hand abs sensor fitted $90-100 thanks brent maybe come and test drive this one so you have something to compare too.... 021433600 papakura but i would guess its most likely a asc control unit if its intermitant , but would need to be checked first etc,
  7. just got this in , if anyone is interested , needs a little cosmetic work jap import , south african assembled type ice white with blue leather sport seats , OBC cruise control nice quiet engine , trans is good. tidy interior blue leather seats front sports seats obc cruise air con mtec steering wheel 2 way sunroof 162k needs a new sunroof panel (has rust in it , simple bolt on panel) both front and rear plastic bumpers have cracks etc missing plastic lower front lip front left guard has a rust hole at the bottom of it 9bolt on replacement panel) small rust hole in right rear lower panel under the bumper where there is the join (nothing major) i can do the work if needed have most parts to sort etc or take it away as it is and save some money and do it yourself say $2500ono as it is lots of potenial in papakura 021433600
  8. you should have a look at my 2000 nz new 323i http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-664667701.htm has the much nicer ZF auto ps. asc units or sensors can fail , sensors are easy enough to change asc units can be replaced or repaired etc , sort of comon fault
  9. unless you have a e28 5 series with a m88 inside
  10. small update , picked up the car , been driving it around for the last 2-3 days etc seems to go well , need to fill it up with super as my bro borrowed it a while back and filled it with 91 so a little down on power also need to sort out a proper exhaust setup , and maybe a remap etc , i do have a spare v8 ecu and remapped chip from the last car so might try that out on a dyno run to compare etc but it has returned about 11.3l/100km driving around town etc , which is not too bad. done about 200km so far played around with the clutch setup , removed the clutch pedal helper spring so the pedal doesn't feel so light and stick down etc have made up a higher clutch pedal stop, as the pedal does not need to go all the way to the floor clutch is working ok , just does not have much feel to when its starting to bite etc , so lots of stalling etc . but with a bit of use seems to be better etc 2000rpm at 100km/h in 6th gear . maybe should have fitted a 3.46 diff instead of the 3.15 also now the front of the car sits even higher so need to sott some shocks and springs out etc
  11. i think it will be sorted now ,it had the 27mm slave in it which suits the earlier type e34 clutch , so fitting a new 22mm slave and a new 19mm master that i had in stock.
  12. heres another one http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/other/mclaren/auction-656509304.htm
  13. i just buy them from a bearing shop . only about $8-10 i use bretmar bearings in papakura http://www.bretmar.com/contact.html 15mm by 32mm by 10mm thick but i am sure you have someone in wellington
  14. small update , engine ,gearbox is in etc up and running , drove it for the first time today needs a little work on the clutch hydrolics etc , i think have the wrong slave cylinder in there and or tied master cylinder etc clutch pedal is super light and stays on the floor when pushed down , still works etc but you just have to pull it back up. not slipping etc makes it hard to change gears having to use your toes to pull the pedal back up with every gear change. its a stock e39 540i clutch , after market ali flywheel and e39 540i 6spd gearbox. why would a left hand drive 97 540i 6spd have a 22.2mm slave cylinder and a rhd 540i 97 use a 23.81mm slave cylinder ?? based on using the same clutch setup all models incl e34 etc use a 19mm master cylinder
