thanks will keep you posted , looks like it might go out in bits . seams a shame to do it to such a nice car oh well will make some other e30's nicer -
replace all the front arms and bushes , they are all going to be old and worn out . also check/replace brake discs . how good are the wheel bearings (any play in them ) make sure you have the correct inner hub size for the wheels to match the hubs

i though maybe it would be maybe worth around $3k or is that too high now , but it has low k's and is pretty tidy . and whats its worth if its a manual and maybe with mtec II kit?? -
just got this in at my new work place . just wondering what you guys think it might be worth if fixed up . just had a sleight frontal (bumper ,bonnet , guard etc) and rear bumper and filler panel between the tail lights . runs great still has current reg and wof etc. what's it worth if fixed up . its one of those high spec'd SA cars ,with obc , cruise , large fuel tank , large tool tray , black leather recaro's , we have a parts car here for some of the bits including maybe a full mtec kit also in black. i think we might even have enough parts to make up a manual conversion kit . what's your thoughts??

the ticking will most likly be a worn camshaft and rockers . very comon on these m40 engines , so be prepaired to spend some $$$$ on fixing that . might get away with adjustment , easy enough to remove the rocker cover and check for wear in the camshaft lobes , maybe you can see it though the oil filler cap with a strong torch , just turn the engine over untill the cam lobes are pointing up . the gauge problem shouldn't be to hard to sort , quite comon they have dry solder joints or a loose conection or earthing bolt inside the cluster , or just swap it out for another rev counter gauge etc

http://www.vf-engineering.com/ maybe cheaper from the states. pretty easy to fit
-
do you have some pictures ?? thanks
-
yes you will most likly need a new slave cylinder about $60-100 from a brake and clutch place etc . about a 30min job to swap over
-
you have to remove the lower panel thats above the pedals and the plastic air duct vent pipe. its right up tight runs pretty much across the back of the heater box . held in with 2 small torx screws . very tight to get it out some times if you trim the plastic panel a bit to give you more angle when fitting the new one back in . sorry bmw part list pics dont show the right hand side where its mounted . just remember its the drivers side not behind the glove box as per lhd cars and some cars have a micro filter in there too so have to remove that first . maybe pick up a new one . http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Maintenance/...rical/Sword.htm http://www.nmia.com/~dgnrg/page_4.htm http://bmwe32.masscom.net/other/microfilte...microfilter.htm

pics of small case and medium case
-
so has gavin finally sorted the ecu remap system on the 2.8L seimens ecu's
-
shouldn't you be looking at getting a medium case diff for a e30 325i not a small case one. also you can get a medium case diff from a e28 and swap over the back plate to fit it into a e30 .
-
yes i agree looks nice , good buy too , let me know when you want to flick it off . cheers brent good to meet ya the other day
-
i have 235/40 17" on 8.5" wide rims
-
just a qucik note the late e30 320i 325i used a larger wider radiator thats the same as used in most e36 320i 323i 325i 328i with the seperate coolant tank . thats what i would sugest you to use , or the nz new e36 320i 323i 325i 328i models came with wider version of what you had in your photos with the built coolant tank
-
thats right , also if you do want to remove teh pedal its a pain and they some times break.
