  2. i have some e28 diffs e34 diffs , but no med case e30 diffs .so co do some gears from them . call by if you like . cheers
  3. commonish problem . also trans coolant can sometimes go into the trans fluid (very bad for trans). i havev a good used radiator for v8 . also yes check/replace the pcv valve at the back of the inlet manifold . but be carefull not to round out the torx bolts that hold it on . otherwise you will have to left the manifold up and grind the bolt heads off . pcv valves cost about $120-150new v8 doesn't have cold start valve or injector . all done by the ecu and temp sensor.
  4. there is a fan mounted at the bottom of the ecu box which draws air in frm the cabin just above your right foot . maybe the fan is a little tied , they are a 2 speed unit and they is a temp probe in the box to control its speed.i have replacements if needed. or maybe some rubbish has got in there and rubbing on the fan blade

    Locked out!

yes you will have to grab the little rod that goes from the lock to the relay .but maybe that wont help if its the barrol that is the problem , better have a good look at a working one before doing it . i have a parts car if you want to check it ,
  6. you should throw in a old big bore 3.5 block with the newer crank and maybe with custom pistons and rebore the block a bit more so you get a 3.6 or 3.7L , as a yank said once there ant no substatute for cubic capacity.

    Locked out!

a cheapish way is to smash through a tail light . i have spares . and if you want to come over and check a parts car as to what you need to do that ok . 021433600. or drill the lock out until you can grab the wire , but i think the tail light is easier and cheaper to replace
  8. ah but you didn't tell him the cost of the manual gearbox kit thats the hard and expensive bit
  9. is it going to keep in the spirit of bmw racing . or just go fast or go home style
  10. have you played around with any of the temp sensors from teh e34 engine??
  11. not sure of that . but sa cars do have some stage old parts laying around that they use up .when germany have the lastest . what deturmines the size is the gear size indside the diff. good link here . page 7 shows diff sizes etc http://www.metricmechanic.com/pdfs/metric-...ial-booklet.pdf
  12. need to buy a multi pin plug and figuire out which is the audio wires and which is the remote turn on wire if it need it .bring you car aroud some time if you like. 021433600. might have something here . pull the stereo out and get a photo of the socket in the back
  13. some adaptors dont have wheels inside to trick the tape deck to think its actually playing tape . so it thinks its at the end because the wheels dont move . try another one . or how about making a adaptor cable to go into the multi cd changer input socket in the back . will sound heaps better . easy enough to do . notice the button cd/aux input???? i also have heaps of bmw/sony decks etc . which could be moded to except ipod in directly . 021433600
  14. who did the wiring conversion to the e28 body loom . e32 and e34 dont have cold start thermo time switches . all they have is a thermo sensor for the instrament cluster and one for the ecu to tell it what temp the engine is so it will run the correct amount of fuel and auto matically adjust for cold starts etc . if you unplug one of the temp sensor plugs the engine will run fine and the gauge will not work . if you unplug the other the engine will run rich and spluter and die because it gets over fueled and more so when the engine is warm . the e28 loom uses a single pin temp sensor teh gauge which returns back to earth(ground etc) so what has been wired there . do you have pics of some of the wiring conections etc . sounds a bit like the main ecu temp sensor is not conected back to the ecu. best to get it checked by a bmw electrician
  15. have not so perfect ones . 021433600 . but repairable
