  1. yes thats right , they only need to get to 100km/h quickly in japan.gearing calculator link gearing
  2. nice buy . saw that one on TM ages ago , then gone , then back on . would have brought that one if i didn't have the others , hard to get those seats . yes my alpina wanna be also had the 3.91 med case diff , too revvy for me , when i converted it to a 5 spd manual i put a 3.45 lsd large case in , just about right for me . some of the early 535i 5psd from uk had 3.25 but a bit tall for the weight of the car and torque . most of the later nz new and imports got the 3.64 large case . nice car . i would go to big on the wheels 18" might be a bit bouncy for nz roads if you like to get out of town a bit . just go 17" and get the widest ones you can get in there . these cars will take a 10" rim in the back and 8.5" in the front with no probs . 275tyres rear and 255 tyres front .

    M50 2.8 Swap

would it be better to use a early M50 2.5 block (castiron) bore it out fit the 3L pistons , rods and crank , use no vanos M50b2.5 head , reamap the bosch ecu etc just a thought , if it works , do one for me
  7. just been clearing up my yard , thought i might as well stick this 4L v8 that came from a e34 540iT i stripped , into a 94 530i v8 shell i have had sitting around for ages . got it in late this afternoon( by myself with help from the load leveler on the engine hoist ) , and fired it up (just wanted to make sure it started as i was fitting to a 530i shell), but havn't finished all the plumbing , gear linkages , exhaust , drive shaft etc . there is no traction control in this 530i shell , might fit a lsd to the diff or change the ratio to a higher geared diff from the 540i or 750i etc .
  8. new gear knob . to replace the loose one.
  9. yes it was a pain to run wires for the seats , but all done now . just have to fit the rear head rests and maybe the centre console with the arm rest .
  10. whats the numbers off it . bosch or simens etc 021433600
  11. i drive all manuals in ak trafic . love it , keeps my left leg strong , and gives me something to do on the way to work , i find auto's frustating how they slip up a gear all the time and a real pain when they pack up and cost $$$$$ to fix
  12. you need the gear lever or the complete mech . not just the knob. also you can disconect the silly gear lever locks while your in there .
  13. that would a vinyl one .leather costs more than that . over $100
  14. have one from a e34 535i sleigtly loose inside .

  16. ha ha .i have a bmw wheel bolt with 2 more nuts locked on to the thread then use a socket etc for the same job .. also i use a big piece of genuine foam rubber that used to be sound deadning around the heater box from a e28 as my wash the car sponge
  17. a set of seats from a my 92 325ci . fronts are good , rear base part has a couple of seams just starting to come apart (have glued it to stop it going any further). very comfortable seats . front seats will also fit into sedan and Ti hatch back , but rears only fit the coupes . back seats fold down . offers around $400 . 021433600 other wise i will list on TM
  18. yes a nz new 540i touring , such a shame . yep , got the rear half of a Z3 chasis into the roof with a bit of moding yep , rhs front strut pushed back and a pillar bent a little can take a while depends on which bits sell quickly . i like to get rid of the bulky stuff like seats , motors etc before i stripp them right down , fill them with $%$&* then off to the scappy guys . this one wasnt to long got it 23rd may , but have been busy with other stuff. takes a about 2 -3 days to do it right
  19. some pics of the latest pile of scrap metal. from this to this ..
  20. yes sometimes those sports switches fail , normally due to COKE been spilled into them
  21. there is a later e32 735i model that has a double thickness one that has a smaller diameter. try the wrecker in papakura. i think he has one
  22. yes left side up above the wheel mounted vertically . check the back of the mids and tweeters to see if they have a capacitor inline with the wire .
