What about the centre console? (ash tray and shift lever part). Mine has holes where some n00b put an 80s style brick of a car phone into it. If good.. add to my order of those other parts.. sweet :mosh:

Scary. Glad it didn't result in anything more serious (ie. life threatening). Was it quite a big speed bump? Some of the ones down here I will scrape even if only two in the car (and my car is not half as low as some around here). Thanks for the headsup.

Have had this happen for the last few versions andy. i just click somewhere on the page, and drag to the right.. it is definately a PITA.

hah. forgot about my follow up to this. As Ian said, loose pressure plate bolts. There was an oil leak in the front gearbox seal, with a bit of seepage into the clutch area. Pressure plate was loose, and ended up also f*cking the release bearing. So in all, a new seal, and release bearing. Clutch and pressure plate themselves were perfect! The car (not suprisingly) drives like new! Thanks everyone for your input.

The seats are apparently called 'vaders'. Don't know whether that's their nickname or what.

WTB: Right hand (driver's side) facelift foglight
Deftones replied to Deftones's topic in Want to buy
pm'd you jungle. hook a brutha up. -
Hi guys/gals As the topic title states, I'm after a facelift E30 right hand side (driver's side) fog light with no cracks in it. It needs to be in a decent condition to match my left hand side one which is mint. My current one has a crack in it, and the moisture has corroded the earth on the connection. Thanks in advance hombres.

Looking pretty fly. Those wheels are pretty awesome. Shadowlining the window chrome? Interior looks mint!

Thanks guys. Very informative post thanks smokenbaby. I drive carefully and never thrash my car at all, and the only person who has done burnouts in my car would have to be Tim.. haha. I always take the car out of gear when at a stop sign, or light (is this a good or bad thing?). The flywheel I bought from Mosen's up in Hamilton. It looked original to me, but was a second hand in mint condition. I think Ian and I (or should I say more Ian) have done as much as we can so far (hydraulics, as far as not replacing master cylinder which is pretty much a year old or so), so next step will be to look at the pressure plate and clutch plate to see if any of what you have described has happened.

hmm... might have to open up ye gearbox and take a look at that clutch and pressure plate of mine.. bugger. Ta.

Hello people My E30 is having transmission issues. Basically for the gears to engage I need to fully press the clutch right to the floor. The clutch also disengages when I lift the pedal about 1cm from the floor. Normally the clutch/gears engage/disengage halfway through the pedal motion. Also, at high revs the gears are pretty hard to engage and a good forceful push is needed. Have talked to a couple of people such as RXSUMO (Darryl) and HARTAGE (Ian) who have pointed me in the direction of the clutch system (this was not obvious at first glance). Ian and I have bled the clutch a few times, and Ian also had a feeling the slave cylinder was upside down and changed it. No seepage anywhere we can see. The clutch feels a lot better now after rebleeding the clutch a few times. Ian has a feeling we need to get the car more level to attempt another bleed. Another idea is that there is a problem with the pressure plate (this was brand new over a year ago with the clutch). Of course checking the pressure plate will be a mission with having to get into the gearbox (something which I will try and delay as much as possible). Has anyone had experiences like this? Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Also, thanks to Ian and Darryl so far for their respective efforts.

I don't have time for wardens or towies. But then again, if you wanna take the risk then do it. Don't forget, if a towie is jacking your car up, and you turn up, you are legally allowed to jump in your car and drive off. Sometimes they may say $40 and you can have your car, but you are in your rights to not pay.

Blanketman always makes my day when I'm in Welly.I take it he still hangs out in Cuba Mall. Nope he is a Courtenay Place boy now.. resides normally outside the Sports Cafe or the Burger King. I drive past him everyday on my way home from work. He also has gone hi-tech and looks to be listening to a portable media device of some sort.

Just get a new centre bearing housing. That's all I did, but then realised the DS was a tad short anyway, but reused it.

320i driveshafts are different to 325i ones as I found out the hardway. The 320i gearboxes are shorter than the 325i gearboxes, well, manual gearboxes at least.

The genuine Recaros only came on the M3 I thought (at least for the E30s anyway). Then there are sports seats which are similar to the recaros. I'm sure last year I confirmed this by checking the BMW EPC. Those ones above maybe look like real recaros because of the back piece. Like someone said above, you can easily find out by looking at the bottom of the seats. The Recaro logo should be there for all to see.
