But where would you put the golf clubs?
-
Agreed-I really fancy the $28k one-cool colour & wheels.Mind you, using your price diff theory, the cheap red one with new wheels still could be the best deal. Two 540's = one 850? mmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Did any body check out the Eggenberger Sierra at Manfield.1 of 5 in the world-Awesome!!
-
Still do here in the heartland & only charge $35. LOL
-
328 hands down !! 2 yrs? it'll last you 10 if you look after it. Specialist check-Definitely.Forget AA-means nothing.
-
Oops-I just realised we're talking about a 40 not a 50

This one looks even better for $28k http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=186758257 & theres another one on tm at $22k Or this one-$16995.How can that be !! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-184418091.htm Wish I had some spare cash.

Big bro spends 2/3 mths there each year cruising around-he absolutely loves it.

Welcome!! Absolutely get a full inspection by a BMW specialist & you wont regret moving to the dark side. E39 540's are sex on wheels-no disrepect to the e30 boys.

I agree with Brians & Penrys comments 100%. Imports are a reality & have been for how long-15yrs? or more. You regret the loss of the local car industry-it was crap & so were the cars! Remember when Aust assembled was a big deal(if you're old enough). They were crap too compared comparatively to what is available now thanks to imports. Get over it.
-
Mate,I agree with you 100%.I've owned around 8 imports from a WRX to a cosworth & several beemas without a single major issue. If you get suckered then its because you're a dumb f**k & didnt do your homework. The button you're talking about is probably the headlight levelling adjuster (use if you have a trailer on etc)

Maybe he should just take to it with the bobcat in the background

For sure.Send me a PM close to the day & we can meet up.

The most exciting thing to happen in the free world for decades-the confidence/feel good factor boost alone will be invaluable. The king is dead(we wish),long live the king. Having had the privelege years ago of seeing presidential security at first hand I can only begin to imagine what it will be like for him.

Looks like I need a new one - keys sometimes dont want come out.It happens with all 3 keys so its not them. Is this a dealer only purchase & do they require coding,(dealer quote 4 barrel $200 ex Germany) which I didnt think was too bad compared to a key at $400!!
-
Hey Simon - I'm liking your new sig & PS I prefer the look of ur car now.Agree with the comment that the 5s age it (cool as they are) pps sold the blue 540- hopefully a new member. ppps when the f**k we going for a beer???????????? pppps u going to manfield?
-
Might be too far for you (unless you fancy a wee road trip)but i've got DSP in mine-I'm in Hastings.Failing that I'm planning on being at Manfield Sunday week.

Hi Jochen-thanks for your post.Just to show my ignorance the only questions I can answer are - laptop on mains power & apart from resetting airbag error & changing language from German to english we only read the analysis
-
Did for me
-
Does look nice-love the rims & yes it has been on a while but that doesnt mean much in todays market. Ex UK -look out for rust.
-
So today I took a deep breath & possibly a big dose of stupidity & ran a diagnose on my other 540.It has sold & needed the airbag reset. Didnt have any dramas except that I got a large number of 'module not responding' messages. Any comments from our resident techys??
-
I recently bought one of these after studying reviews etc & thought it could be a pretty useful thing to have. After finally getting it loaded on the PC (the instructions are crap) my brother & I thought "cool, lets have a play"so to the shed we raced & plugged into the 540 & did a 'full diagnose'-very cool information & no error codes-"Excellent" we thought. Big bro says "I've got the airbag light on,lets see if we can reset it". So after a bit of car shuffling we hook up his 740 & off we go with the 'full diagnose'.Get a couple of error codes & reset, including the airbag light-"all good" we say."Aint this a great thing." NOT !!!! It completely nuked his OBC,cleared everything leaving all the displays blank, rev counter stuck on 6k,fuel guage out,no stereo etc etc. Took it to Jeff Gray for a recode-NOT !! Just wouldnt happen. So now module is on its way to AK hopefully for a rebuild ($300), if possible,or failing that a new unit at $600. So folks BE WARNED it could happen to you-be careful !!! The Airbag light reset tho. LOL.Big bro thinks perhaps next time it needs resetting it might be cheaper at the dealers

The crumple zone did its work well-cabin looks very intact for a 100k T-bone. One of the reasons for driving a beema.

Likewise I was watching this one-Think you got a good buy. As Simon said-the ultimate cruiser. Welcome.
