Spotted an 06 E500 Merc at local dealer.done 11,500ks. Price new was $167k,For sale for $106k Thats a hit of $30k per year or $5.30 per kilometre!!! Now thats gotta hurt.

No offence Brian but the discrepancy between dealer sale prices & private on 540s is HUGE & IMO,as long as you purchase with due care,not justifiable.

Whats the drama-make out 2 cheques- 1 to the party with the interest & 1 for the balance to the owner. Its no big deal.Certainly not losing a good car over.

Hey guys,The right rear window on my 540 wont lower. I've had the door card off-motor works fine in both directions,the pull cable is intact & seems to be doing what it should. Is there a pulley or similar on the window arm(up where you cant see) that could be disconnected or stuffed. Any help would be much appreciated.I hate stuff that doesnt work.At least its stuck up!

This is a good theory that can work with lesser dogs but if you're ever unfortunate enough to stumble on a pitty attack DONT intervene unless you're able to kill it ie a knife or axe.Even a hammer wont stop a pitty when its hit the "red zone".And DONT shout & scream at the dog-this only excites them & will make things much worse.

You're dead right-winning this election will be the hospital pass from hell.If I was John Key I'd throw it & be assured almost guaranteed success in 3 yrs.

Dont get me wrong-I'm no labour fan but John Keys was a trader-he has little ,if any, experience of international finance as it relates to running a country's finances & he has no political experience whatsoever & like it or not this experience is vital!And Labour have not put us in this position-the international credit market collapse has! Have you forgotten that NZ has enjoyed the most buoyant economy in decades over the last 7 or so years.

I've always believed govts shouldnt be able to do more than 2 terms-they seem to develop a very dangerous arrogance & lose touch with the real world(if they were ever in touch).Until a few weeks ago I was definitely of the opinion that labour needed to go(given they've already been in 1 term too long). Now however,with the financial crisis,I wonder if National has the financial experience to guide the country thro the next few years -I dont think so. So perhaps we need to trade off Labours BS social,nanny state policies for financial experience-they at least have that & at the end of day without a strong financial base we are f**kd.
