Welcome I'm assuming the 740 is in NZ? If so,if you identify it on here chances are someone on the forum will have some info And yeah the export thing works in reverse too. As the other posters say I'm sure you'll enjoy the 740 MUCH more than any ford (no offense)

Personally I dont think thats a dumb idea Mr E34, or 50 @ 1500.I'm sure there'd be a heap of BM /Bimmersport /business related promotional activities it could be used for.No doubt you city/business guys could come up with a good plan-a trust type set up perhaps. I'd definitely be a starter-it would be nice to to be involved with something so special.

Yes there is a carbon fibre option but as M3cab said they're very expensive.

You dont need to sand right off-enough for a good base and then use an etch primer-easy as & tough as nails if done right.Etch,Colour,Clear .Going to do the same to mine.

I drive with a window down a bit just for the aural pleasure.

Mate,I think your price is fine but the problem is the "gas guzzler "perception is alive & well & making it really hard to sell larger cars(as you no doubt already know).There was a tidy one for sale here recently which I think ended up going for around 4k & joshNZ in Palmy has a nice one & hasn't been able to sell. I've got a spare? 540 which I havent even bothered advertising because there are so many for sale at the moment & they're not really moving To be honest,if you've got the opportunity to trade,you might be better off to just take the hit & move on-as much as it sucks. AND-we need some pix of the M-sport.

Your 740 is a 4 litre isnt it so you'll find the 540 noticeably faster-helped of course by the fact that its lighter. Kiwi535 is right-the rides firmer but if it has EDC not that different-personally I always turn mine off .Good round town but crap if you're having fun on the windy bits. The 540's more a performance car & rides & handles accordingly whereas the 7 is definitely a cruiser so it depends what you want. You can fool with your head trying to compare them. As to what to look out for-the same things you would with a 7 particularly the cooling system which will almost certainly F*** out around 100k,pixels,bushes etc. Having said that,if its well maintained etc not really any big minuses. Go on - Do it & join the 540 club-you'll love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And an M sport too-cooooooooool.
