As per the title, how does one go about removing the door/trolley stopping plastic strips that run around the door and the latter part of the fender and rear panel. I can find one screw thats visible from the exterior (inside the door down from the locking mechanism) Have an Mtech2 replica kit that I want to get put on which requires the removal of the above part. Cheers, James

Good summary Slideways, Thats the exact reasoning for my purchasing a 318i over a 320i at the time, it's more fun having an engine which is rev happy and handles great than a sedate (albeit faster) 320i - not saying they don't handle nicely though. Pity I didn't hold out and go for a manual though. PS: Don't forget to colour code the bumpers!

Got that link of GP forums didn't you... DIDN'T YOU Very very cool car, It's inspired me to go on the lookout for an older BMW.
-
Just because it's not fast by todays standards doesn't mean its all show no go, I'd make the assumption it out-handles a lot of the cars around.

Depends on the officer you get, some will ticket you outright for no reg or warrant, whilst some will let you off if you're on your way to VTNZ etc... Luck of the draw, although I'm assuming most will work on the first example - The cops would also probably go on how long the warrant has been out aswell, and they'll assume you've been using your car since that time - even more reason to ticket you. They will ticket you on the basis of "Should have got the rego and warrant updated before it expired." I'm assuming the only legal way of getting your car to the testing station if it has no warrant is to put it on the back of a trailer.

Sent you an e-mail, Have you still got the ciggie lighter (the thing itself) the rear centre console, the rear ashtray, and may also need a headlight on/off switch (the round pull out one)

Yeah, Heard about it on the news a while back. http://www.supercarsnz.com Good choice of engine

Strange the Honda Civic Type R is so slow in the game (from the start) those damn cube car things have been beating me in some races! Skyline GTS-T makes an alright starting off vehicle.

Drove past it last night, Will have a closer look today I'll ask all of your questions on behalf.

Hi Grant, May be able to help you out, will post here later tonight. Cheers, James

Nice, the needle doesn't seem to want to slow down anywhere on the spectrum. Got any more specs about that car?

Criticism is only half complete when there is only one side of it. People need to learn there are two sides and that both must be voiced appropriately, ie not "that's plain sh*t" but "that's plain sh*t because of..........." Taste are already taken into account by a lot of forum members already, we all have different taste in Lights, Wheels etc... And when someone post a picture of something they perceive to look good (often due to they have just purchased it) and the general consensus is everyone else doesn't like it people just won't comment - which is great, that is accepting thier taste is different to your own. When someone ask for ideas as to what they should do with thier car that's when they want both positive and negative criticism - saying something "doesn't look bad" when it looks 'abyslmal' only leads people down the wrong track. Remember they have come to you for advice, so give it to them! PS: Respect the Hondas.

Will probably see you around on one Saturday or Friday night, the personalised plate makes it a lot easier to ident your car! - (And that's why I don't have one...)

Any performance modifications cost a lot and in almost all cases you won't get money back when you go to sell. Turbo kits (namely US ones) I despise - well all that are "stock internal friendly." To me if you're going to Turbocharge an engine do it proper and go all out with things, it just seems so half assed to bolt up a turbo to a stock engine and get 1/5th of the power that can be assatained out of it by running low boost. 328's aren't slow cars to begin with, hence why I'd love to see one turbo'ed that isn't from a bolt up kit I can imagine you'd be pulling some crazy figures with a well tuned turbo version. I do like the power of Turbos, but at the same time it feels like you're resorting to what the Japanese performance cars do.. Hence why I'd love a nicely tuned N/A engine

With no due offence, I'd be a little hesitant on buying a car from D1 NZ Yeah I know it's genuine, best of luck with the sale.

I think it's because there is so much black, White car with black sills, black bumpers, black mirrors etc... Paint the bumpers white (leave the mouldings black, depends on the look you want) and the mirrors to the same colour as the car.

Damn shame about the sideskirts, the M-tech 2 spoiler and the colour coded shizzle. Makes sleeping hard.

Ahhh, The 318i just got a new windscreen yesterday. Had a chip right in the "critical viewing position." Only took them 20mins to put a new one in - covered by insurance. Windscreen is so clean and scratch free now..... However they stuck the rego sticker way high up and the warrant is half peeling off and little to no consideration for the DCH sticker!

Lucky no damage occured. My friend's 300ZX had a dodgy wire that shorted on the ciggarette lighter resulting in an entire loom (which runs up to the instruments, lights etc not speedo, tach) catching fire after melting. We had no tools to disconnect the terminal from the battery which was boiling at the time, you could see fire and smoke coming from behind the instrument cluster (a detachable piece, not a one-piece dash) and smoke coming from the plastic around the ciggie lighter. Not a good feeling when you're in the back of this car where you can bearly move and the thing starts filling with smoke when you've just parked up at a petrol station. Some dude grabbed a window washer bottle and put the fire out fairly imediately after we noticed it, 10mins later the security gaurd we initially asked for help walked back with a bottle of water... Due to this fault being ahead of the fusebox no fuses at all blew and the wires around it weren't even warm.... Had we been driving at the time I can almost say with 100% certainty he would have lost the whole car as we had nothing to put the fire out - Buy a fire extinguisher people! Welcome to the forums by the way.

The Mtech 2 on the '25 SE is so hot right now... Especially when so many people want it.
-
Some prick broke both of my window wipers (at the base....) "Let's park the car on the street..... " If anyone has a matching pair for sale, PM me please.

The 325i Manual does around 11L/100km (around town driving) occasionally being heavyfooted....
