Hell yeah, they make good track rims, along with some goodyear "assurance" tires Edit: Looks f@#kn suck though, and the rims suit it bloody well i reckon. Just don't keep changing your mind all the time, k?

I just chucked my "check control" in the gap instead Almost looks like it was meant to be there, took a bit of hacksawing to fit though and it doesnt quite fill the slot haha
-
And make sure you check your oil first. Just in case it is burning some, better make sure you have enough to start with

The thing that worries me is... what if they decide they like FWD, and then start sticking it in all their models?

And just another tip with the seats. Since you are using the Jamex seats (not FIA approved, therefore not covered in authority card but still ok for WoF). If you do drill new mounts in the floor for the seats you will need the correct backing plates riveted underneath the floor, and the correct sized bolts as described in Schedule A. Also, to make the car road legal with modified seat mounting points you will need a LVVA Cert. If you can it would be more advisable to either make new rails, or modify your existing rails, in order to mount the seat where you want it, or get mounts made up that attach to the cage (so you can get it covered on an authority card ). It would be really unfortunate for you to need a cert, as they are just another expensive setback. Technically my rear seat mounting points may or may not need a cert

I swear the only reason GT4 didnt hook me in as much as 3 is because it was MORE realistic, therefore MORE difficult haha. And really really big. GT5 however will come out just in time for me to purchase at the end of recruit course along with PS3, wheel, and whatever brand TV is best/biggest at the time

+1 on all that they said ^^^^ You will love the car though. It will not stop torturing you like that, but you will love it none-the-less.

Keep the chrome. PFLs rock. Especially PFL 320i sedans . Looks pretty tidy, will be good to see how you get on. Shame all the fun stuffs done already! (Stripping, removing heatsheilding etc haha)
-
Yes it is. Te Rapa block, room 1. My current room haha. I'm doing the NMIT Aero Eng course so I can go into the RNZAF as an Aircraft Mechanic In other news, the Cortina is fixed!! Took it all to peices, ran a tap through it, and it all bolts up nice and tight and well sealed now
-
I would... but unfortunately i dont have access to a compressor. The plan is to take it all apart next weekend so i can get a proper look at it, hopefully it won't need a helicoil as I've never actually used one before haha. But it is definitely very gunked up, I couldnt even get the tap into the thread (the waterpump is still bolted up so i couldnt see why).

I would love to own that. Would love to own anything close to that. I think i might buy a focus
-
iLike. Purple ftw. Should look mint as, you better be free when im back up in September so i can see this in the flesh!

Happy bday mate. What he said ^^^

I didnt pay much haha... A measly $1145. Ok, so got the cooling issue under control, just need to find a way to get a bolt for the waterpump back into the block... the thread in the block is either stripped, or clogged with thread tape. Does anyone know the best way to clean it out? Should i try running a tap through it? Otherwise if its stripped i'll have to get my tutors to give me a hand with a helicoil
-
I fixed the issue of people mis-treating my car. I now have an $1100 Cortina shaped brick, which im sure must be damn-near un-dentable, and which is in such an average condition it doesnt matter hwere i park. Now people fear parking next to me

You've seen the clearance for my window winders right? I have to have the doors open to wind down the windows haha. Good to see your finally going all out, and can't wait to see you on the track. I was considering selling mine, but i think i should just keep it and abandon race series rules, and go nuts. Gotta keep up with you, Oli and Kerry somehow . (Team Welly Racing?) (or Team Shelly BMW haha... keep it oldschool )
-
Hehe... its not really an issue per say, reminds me of the BMW But it is pretty annoying haha.
-
Sorted it all out, turns out the water pump runs off the fan-pulley, so didnt even need to remove the timing belt. It still leaks however, due to one thread for one of the bolts being stripped/clogged. So i cant get one of the mounting bolts back in. Oh well, I'll sort it out another time haha. Next step: Fix the loud, annoying tappet noise.
-
Well i have no issues with the cam at the moment, got bigger problems haha. Water-pump is pissing out coolant, and i can't for the life of me find a service manual for it. It doesnt get up to temperature either, which means once i find the thermostat i'd better investigate that too haha. But it does look fairly simple to work on, which is always a bonus

It has the iconic 2L Pinto OHC engine, and it goes pretty good for what it is. Can't be compared to a Primera really, it at least drives the right wheels and the humble wagon doesnt even pretend to be a sportscar And the sound of the old pinto.... not quite the howl of an M20, but its pretty awesome all the same

I have just purchased myself another great european car. It's a 1977 mkIV Ford Cortina Station Wagon! It's not exactly new, but its good fun and a real challenge to drive with no power steering, a very sloppy 4-speed box, and some very close together pedals haha. Just thought I'd share, since its such a bright cheerful car
-
Yeah, unfortunately cars these days have to meet real strict frontal impact standards, and be pedestrian friendly, making them all snub-nosed and ugly Function over form makes for one ugly world!
-
Nah, sorry shouldve been clearer... dark blue/grey colour i think, maybe even black... Definitely not burgundy haha, with some older guy driving it...
-
I'd rather catch the bus
-
Umm it was a dark colour of some sort... wasnt really paying much attention, and it was quite dark!!
