  5. They do look very tidy. I like. Might have to try make something similar for mine
  6. Copycat haha. I used a hacksaw to make it fit, and its a tight fit so its not moving anywhere. It is a good spot for it if you have a cage!
  7. NAC does $8000 cover for my racecar for $800 so I wouldn't say they are that pricey. That seems pretty standard for an U21 for an $8000. car

    Quick Questions

Where it is practical to fit one. So if you had a reasonable excuse you wouldnt need one. Eg. my rollcage gets in the way
  12. Actually, it is BREAKING THE LAW to go even 1km over the limit. It is merely a guideline that states that Police should not target those people in the 0-9km over bracket. Simply to help other kiwis out. If they wanted to theyd be completely within their rights to ping you for 100.1km/hr. Just dont (get caught) speed(ing)
  13. Looks like a good score for that price! Looks very nice, Auto or Manual?
  14. Hankooks are pretty decent tyres... unless you chuck them on a 4wd. Put them on my Legacy because they were the cheapest of the better options, and instantly got some severe understeer everywhere, and lots of squealing. Not pleasant at all.
  15. Would love some for my Cortina haha. Louvres are badass, when they are done right of course. Gotta have the right car/look to match
  16. My Parents live in Kuwait, but Dad buys stuff all the time and gets it sent to me here. Stopping overseas logins would be stupid IMO, hyow would you like it if you couldnt buy off Ebay?
  17. Haha, that might have to do. Currently the broken clip has been replaced with a cable tie. Will definitely consider the Warrior head in the future, I have been promised $10k if I can get 300hp out of the pinto, and have it last 5000kms haha
  18. Ok, so it turns out the rocker arm retaining springs are near impossible to come by, so if anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated. Have sourced a Cam and rockers, so thats all I'm waiting on. They look like this:
  19. +1 I'm stuck in the South Island. (Practically is a different country!!)
  20. Yeah. Cos i can research and do that in a week and a half, without a garage.
  21. Cheers for the offer, but I'm going to try local first, as I go on recruit course in two weeks, so either need it fixed by then, or it won't be done till December haha. I guess i didnt think about the availability of parts when i decided a 70s car would be fun...
  22. Perhaps i should try that. Just to see the looks on their faces. Even more so if they still stock it The worst thing is that one of the rocker retaining springs has snapped, and no-one seems to know where to get them. Might have to go 2nd hand for that...
  23. So the Cortina is being very british. Its broken down. Haha, some massive wear on the camshaft on the 3rd exhaust lobe, and a worn rocker to match means she's going nowhere fast. The rocker has a habit of falling off, causing it to drop a cylinder and pressurise the rocker cover, spraying oil everywhere. On the plus side i can now re-install the rocker on top of the valvetrain again in 30mins But it'll need a new camshaft, and a set of rockers before it truly lives again

    Quick Questions

Sometimes they take a bit of juice, and a bit of time to get them going if they are pretty flat. Leave the jumpers connected for 10mins or so with the jumping car running, then give it a whizz and cross youyr fingers. Also check that your jumper leads can supply enough amperage (most 100A cheapies will not start a 6cyl!). Failing that, take battery back with receipt, get replacement
  25. How far back does this go? I have a 1977 Ford Cortina (british car ) and it struggles to manage 400km from a tank (55L!!). I don't know enough about older cars to be able to figure out if it's just the lack of an overdrive gear (4-speed box) thats causing such terrible economy, or if its normal in older cars, or if there is something wrong! Makes my BMW look like a saint
