Four bottlecaps, average condition, with tyres. Two tyres the same, two different, all either just legal, or slightly under. (Wear lines are still visible so i guess they might just be WoF'able). Looking for $75 (Basically scrap price haha) Located in Porirua

Looks nice. Everyone says it, but it is truly cars like these that inspire me to continue to own an E30 .
-
iLike. Always had a thing for E28s... like E30, but rarer
-
Sooo time for a shitty teaser pic of new rimmage. The old TSWs i had in the garage that i couldnt get rid of have been tired up and bolted on. (DSLR pics to come, when i get some gas and find a photoshoot location!)
-
He sold it not long after it went on trademe.
-
They mustve entered the wrong car. That car is too old for Fuelsaver data anyway. Oldest 750Li it does is '06
-
I used to love WRX's. Now every man and his dog has one, and I can see they are very much a kids car. Always hated E46s, now i want one! Drool...
-
Same. Had more problems with the transport co. involved though. Quite probably a problem there, or a miscommunication.
-
You want pre-facelift. Pre-facelift = chrome, facelift = plastic.
-
Gutted. Yeah thats who im with. You probably wont do better til you get a few more driving years under your belt then.

Last time we went to Vero they wanted $2000 to insure a 2004 Corolla. State did it for $600. And we had a ridiculously large sum of property insured with Vero too. And yeah, Classic wouldnt insure me cos of my age either.
-
Yes it would well and truly be a $10k car, or close to at least ($8?$9) Seats and harnesses $800 Cage $2500 Car $2000 Suspension $1500 Wheels + tyres at least $1k Although thats new prices, but still itd be bloody hard to replace (he'd have to buy mine!)
-
Ouch! Who's that with? And insured for how much? Mine I insured in 08 for $10k, with accident history of an "at fault" accident just 3 months prior for $1100, at the tender age of 18. But i suppose thats 2 more years driving history....

I give up so I'm selling her. Put a new cam in and a new problem reared its ugly head. As I'm saving for a pilots licence i figure someone else can deal with it, so on trademe she goes: Ford Cortina 1977

Ok so I want to learn to fly, and have big dreams of flying Jumbo's so unfortunately my pride and joy, that i have literally poured blood, sweat and tears into (and burnt flesh!) is up for sale. What we have is a 1987 BMW 320i, built up to almost race series specs by me, partly at WINTEC on course, and partly at home in my garage. She sports: Reasonably comprehensive homologated rollcage, built at tech and painted a very classy matte black. 2 Jamex racing bucket seats, also a very classy black. 2 Jamex 6pt harness's, silver in colour, have maybe 2-3yrs left on their dates (But NZ dating is doubled now yeah?). Koni race series shocks all round. King springs (race series) all round. Original bottlecaps, with fairly good tyres. - Will require 15' wheels and toyo r888s to be series ready. Fram Airhog pod filter, in a custom oven tray stainless airbox. Interior completely stripped bar the dash basically (of course). 4.10 race series compliant diff. Also comes with: Spare engine on stand (take the stand too, i dont need it), with blown piston rings? Smoked when warm, hence has been replaced. Disk brake rear end, probably needs new rotors etc, and new bushes. Various bolts and bits and pieces off the old engine. So what you say do I ask for all this? I was thinking about $8k to Bimmerpsorters, but she'll be on trademe before too long... Has only been raced twice (once on each engine) at the Manfeild intermarque sprint series. Also, car and bits are in Porirua but I'm in Blenheim. Newer pics will come next time I'm home, and I will be moving home at some stage this year. Some pics: #Note centre handbrake + gearlever surround trim thingys have since been removed. Edit: as has racing steering wheel, replaced with tech 1 wheel wrapped in tape due to rips.

Cheers, I definitely will. The way I see it theres no point staying in a job unless you love it. And turns out im not really that keen on mechanical work, apart from maybe a little in my spare time haha. And no fears of DIC charges, I barely drink and certainly would never drive after a few. I love driving too much to risk losing that licence, let alone a career
-
So if this is legal, your keeping it? So i can sell mine now? haha
-
He came along to the last Bimmersport meet. Very gorgeous car! Pics in the welly events forum, you shoulda come lol.
-
Cos they aren't E30 fitment.
-
Sorry i screwed that up. Shouldve said the 50 profile on the rear so that the tyres look the same on the two rims, with the front being 25mm smaller. So a 4.6% difference? I think...Edit: 50 profile on both so a 1" difference in overall diamter. 610 vs 585.
-
Had a look through the wof manual, couldnt finnd any reference to not being allowed two diff sizes. As long as they are the same on each axle. The reason for running the same profile, and therefore different radius is purely cosmetic. So i dont have two higher profiles looking strrange as lol.

Reverse working turbo setup
huff3r replied to polley's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
Of course you're all going the wrong way about it. Remove the engine and the trans if thats what your worried about, then cut holes in the floor, stick your feet through them and use them to push the car along whilst making "pshhht" noises every few seconds. Wham. Reverse working turbo, with a power decrease, no worrying autobox, and massive fuel savings. Ooops, that should be (making "thhhsp" noises) as it is a reverse setup. -
Can someone please outline for me the legalities around tyre sizing? i.e Allowable difference in rolling radius Allowable difference in tyre width Allowable tyre widths on tyre rims etc As I have currently got 195/60/14s and new rims, so need new tyres. Looking at getting (If it's allowable) 205/50/16s on a 7.5" wide rim on the rear 205/50/15s on a 7" rim on the front. (Weird sizes due to me having the unfortunate combination of 2 15x7s and 2 16x7.5s)
