  1. Your problem appears to be lack of throttle. And the speedo seems a bit light is that in mph? 220 limit. Yes, due Inspection service and an Oil service. Send it to someone capable.
  2. I bet the in car footage was exciting. The stuff from the car behind was awesome. Those F1 car drivers are soft though. If that was Mick Doohan or one of the bike riders, he'd be back in 2 weeks.
  3. Hi Andrew I'd be keen to hear your issues with Karim & Compass. I dealt with them as they started up years ago, and we secured the power for their network. Haven't heard a lot about them since I've come home. They were doing tolls mainly then.
  4. Bah Humbug Ollie! Stick with it Spanner Girl. Be an individual. On the comments regarding the sales of phones and the knowledge. None of those people actually work for Telecom or Vodafone, nor have any real understanding about the technology behind the networks. *sic is correct about Australia, we had a much better range of choice of providers. However, in reality, there are only 3 networks. Optus, Telstra & Hutchison (AAPT, could, but I'm sure they were fixed line only). I am surprised that 3 (Hutchisons network) has not had a bigger take up by now. Some of the content on there is cool. I must say, that I predominantly use my phone as a phone, text 2nd. But it is much easier to travel the world with a GSM/Triband phone. I'm with Tim on the real-time video calling on Vodafone. Telecoms offering sucks big-time. Pre-recording and then MMS the content. How lame. CDMA and GSM both have very good arguments. Telecom made a good bet early on, but stopped investing the network. So have since fallen behind. The new World phones which I now have one of are much better, than the old CDMA ones. In reality, Telecom want to be like Transpower and be a bulk provider of bandwidth(i.e. the transmission provider). Customers mean hassle, so the fewer they have the better.
  5. Welcome. Post some pics of the Skyline. Think about a 540. Luxury, Leather and performance. Economical too.
  6. I answered on which company offered a better range of service. Vodafone. I really couldn't care about how much it costs to text anyone. Real-time video calls, global roaming and a much better range of handsets. A truly global company versus our now Mickey-Mouse Telecom. They used to be one of the best in the developed world. Since privatising and not spending on infrastructure, they are going the same way as Air NZ. Complete crap.

    Very nice. Great cars.
  8. Because the 'Great Southern Man' is what you'd expect to find over the Shore. Nice car. Don't worry about the motor size, you can still have fun in it. Plenty of these guys have traded up from 316's & 318's.
  9. So far none of you appear to be New Zealanders holding dual citizenship. NZ will let others hold dual citizenship. This is straight from the internal affairs web-site and quite clearly shows the ability to hold more than 1 passport if required. (f)Where 2 or more valid New Zealand passports are in existence in respect of the holder and there is no longer any sufficient reason why that should continue to be the case. OK, edit for correction. I am wrong, NZ will now let you hold dual citizenship. Dual Citizenship As far as New Zealand is concerned there is no restriction on acquiring the citizenship of another country (such as Britain) as well as retaining your New Zealand citizenship. Consequently, you may hold a passport of that other country in addition to your New Zealand passport. Having dual citizenship would not cause you to lose any rights as a New Zealand citizen, although when you return to New Zealand you must use your New Zealand passport or your British one must have a valid permit to enter New Zealand.
  10. Happy Birthday Doug You should have called, I could have shouted you a few drinks while I was down there.
  11. You can get a LHD one, as long as you can prove that you owned and operated it for 90 days before you imported it to NZ.
  12. X3 diesel would be my pick of the BMW SUV for that. Get a Disco diesel. It'll cost far less.
  13. I thought the news was that Andrew had a missus. I'd have given her the Turbo as a gift. A new race car project Andrew.
  14. get a 540i, they are cheap and great. Not as great as a manual one. But still an awesome car. You'll go a long way to find better bang for your buck, plus luxury.
  15. See kiwi_535 or Rxsumo They'll see you right.
  16. I'll be tapping *sic on his shoulder there. Great suggestion. No Honda though, what happened?
  17. This bloke has balls of Steel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0gHZrowzlU Flat out over the hill, around the outside. I'd bet he knows a panelbeater and painter pretty well though.
  18. Don't let Greenpeace find out where you live Bravo!
  19. I like Jock's idea. Not to fix the boy racer problem, but that would remove a lot of unsafe vehicles from the road. Wouldn't be that hard to set up. RFID is cheap these days. Then the pump attendant wouldn't have the ability (where can you find a station that will fill your tank anyway?) or choice.
  20. Welcome. You'll have to show up to some of the SI E30 race series and show it off.
  21. I like Dakar Yellow. I'll be driving down for the week. I intend to go and play pub poker at the Westshore Hotel on Tuesday night. Come down if you want. I'll shout you a beer. Cheers Cain
  22. Not true. Our MD is a German and had his licence nailed by the Australian's. He needed intervention by the German embassy to have his German licence re-instated. And Kiwi's cannot hold dual citizenship. Pom's can, American's can. We will let you hold whatever you like as well as ours. But Kiwi's can't hold 2 passports. The only exception is if you travel to Israel and Arab states, you can hold 2 passports of the same kind to enter both territories, as they will not allow you to pass between the two. A good lawyer will get you off the semi-permanancy/permanancy technicality in a heartbeat. As has been stated here before, poorly informed cops are the norm and they are easy to beat in court. If it ever gets that far.
  23. I am unsure of whether the NZ laws are the same. I do know that the Aussies expect you to only have once licence. i.e. they take you current one and punch a hole in it to void it.
