  1. Good to hear. Put on a balaclava and do a huge burnout to get rid of the sh*t Jap tyres. Youtube it and say the thieves did it.
  2. I'd be looking to Conrod for a definitive answer for you.
  3. We'll have to get all the V8's and V12's together for a photo shoot. Alan, yours is a very nice car too.
  4. Deb took the BMW away with her, so I have missed the opportunity this time. I had the option to close an airbase do some runs. Will have to work on it again. The Falcon isn't worth the effort. Thanks for the help anyway.
  5. That's a better photo of our car than I got! A good collection there. Thanks.
  6. I don't doubt that the new M3 is much more refined than all predecessors and a better performer. But not as harsh, does that make it worse? Surely not. Less fun, most probably. Being a good Bogan. How can you go wrong with a V8 in a medium sized car?
  7. Police wrong about high-speed Reliant 12:11PM Friday July 13, 2007 A British court heard that a Reliant Robin, alleged to be speeding at over 112km/h, wasn't capable of going that fast. A Reliant Robin driver has had dangerous driving charges against him dropped after it was proven that his three-wheeler couldn't travel at high speeds. Cambridgeshire police alleged that George Maltby, 46, had overtaken their unmarked patrol car at "over 70mph (112km/h)" in a 40mph zone with "its front wheel off the ground, creating sparks". Mr Maltby was carrying three passengers at the time and contested that he sensibly overtook the unmarked Mondeo after its driver slowed to look in a car showroom window. Maltby's story was backed by an independent accident investigator, who pointed out that the Reliant was incapable of travelling at 70mph with three passengers on board and couldn't have have created sparks - because of its fibreglass body. Nicola Devas, defending, told the court that officers had 'over-egged the pudding'. Mr Maltby only drives Robins as he holds a motorbike licence, which doesn't cover him for conventional cars. The three-day trial has been seen as a farcical waste of money by many. Leaving court Maltby commented that the fastest he'd ever driven his Robin was at "55mph on a dual carriageway" before adding "Lovely jubbly." - REUTERS
  8. Looks nice. I like those wheels. Motorsport front spoiler and indicators would make it much sweeter.
  9. Where Allan? I've just done a quick search on Trademe and can't see it.
  10. I do think they'd look pretty awesome in a white M3. See you soon Doug. I think I'll leave Palmy on Sunday 22nd for your side.
  11. Welcome. I'm sure you'll have fun in it. Have you taken a car for a spin at the Canterbury Motor Racing School? I keep meaning too, but never get around to it. I must check if the Formula Ford is laying around in the garage down there in a few weeks.

  18. Welcome. The roller rockers look great. Good luck for the Targa. Looking forward to pictures of the car.
  19. 540LE, or 540iS Ltd, whatever you would like to call it.
  20. 2.445km long and has an entry onto it that I should be able to approach about 80km/h. So I should be able to get close to the speed limiter. Hoping to get into 6th. Change out of 5th at 235km/h. We'll see. Still working on getting the car there.
  21. Maybe it's our age Jock. 17" are perfect. 19" if you like a car that doesn't handle, but looks good.
  22. Happy Birthday Rog. I stopped by the Motel 2 weeks ago, but you were out for the day. Trout fishing maybe? You never know I might have an excuse to stay in Taupo sometime. I'll have a beer for you tonight.
  23. OK, two questions. The first one comes from a discussion this afternoon with a mate with a GT3. The second, well. The explanation covers it off. 1. As tyres have speed ratings. My understanding is this is the speed they will withstand for 1 hour continuously. i.e. 'S' rated is 180kph. So what happens after that? They delaminate, I guess. So, if you don't blow the tyre by running it for 55 minutes and it cools down. Does the tyre then need replacing? 2. If I am to try a LEGAL High speed run. What pressure should I be running in the tyres? If I get to do the 2nd event. I promise to youtube the event from inside the car.
