Thanks to Ray ive now got a functional 16:9 display in the E39, so obviously the LCD module in he 4:3 has failed. Straight plug and play. Still need to sort a newer model video module (as im stuck with 4:3 AR on 16:9 display), which Ray also has, but thats another item for another day. A quick pic i took whilst fitting it, before the trims went back on

Ripped into installing it as soon as i got home from work as the nonfunctional 4:3 display was starting to piss me off. Now im running the widescreen 16:9 display. Its still running the old aspect ratio, need to replace the video module, but ill sort that out later. Its also very awesome getting TV channels 1-5 in the car Old New (before i refitted the trims)

Just be aware that if this is the case the package is only insured to that value, so if something happens in transit youre out a fair bit of cash.

better off keeping it, drop the V8 in it that you wanted to, rather than to sell it for the peanuts youre asking, imo...

good idea, wont work on motorsport seats though as they use that "blank" for the thigh bolster adjustment.

i was under the impression the phones are just GSM, thus a vodafone or 2degrees card would work?

its a very good price, and its likely ill take the offer, just trying to see if anyone else has upgraded and wants to offload their old display for cheap.

as per title, want the old square LCD screen to suit my E39. Dont need trim, or even just the LCD module will be fine. Want to replace my faulty one (the big white square in my photo). Must work, prefer it to be in good condition. In wellington, can pay postage or pickup if local. Let me know what you have and what you want for it.

i would expect the car to run rich after having the adaptions on the ECU reset, as to my understanding it takes time for the ECU to lean the mixture out depending on factors whilst driving.

Hmm damn, unplugged the nav unit, left for half an hour, fired up, no change. Removed monitor from dash, checked connections. Looks like the monitor has failed

Ive tried disconnecting the battery for half an hour, no change. Also tried removing and disconnecting the nav unit, but didnt leave it to sit for a period of time afterwards. Ill give it a shot after work. Cheers

How do you get it to show up on the dash cluster? Keep in mind i dont have steering wheel controls, but i do have the High OBC. Its a completely different beast compared to the old E36. The E39 (even though its not that much more modern) makes my old low k E36 feel old and average. With the better engine, trans and suspension the E39 walks all over the E36 when it was auto (maybe even when it was manual too). Much prefer the E39 interior, and having 4 doors is pretty novel.

Hi Just purchased a 00 E39 (JDM import) and it has the old style 4:3 monitor. Only issue is that the display is completely white, no image or anything. The radio still works and i assume the cd changer will too. I have the original jap nav cd in the unit in the boot. Ive had a nosy and all the connections in the boot are well, connected. Beyond that i dont really know what im looking at in there. Anyone know how to remedy this? Its a real pain navigating the radio stations blind.

Hi all, got some things from when i owned my E36 that i obviously wont be needing anymore. If these dont sell here ill chuck them on trademe. All prices include free postage in NZ (not rural). First up, Pelican Parts jackpad for E36. Goes into jack holes in side of car so you can use a hydraulic jack. Awesome to use, very easy and safe. Obviously now i dont own a BMW its not that useful. It comes with the standard ODBII connection and an adaptor for for big round under bonnet connector too. Brand new, never used. Only opened box to check it had the round adaptor.
