  1. yeah, didnt think there was much point in giving you a toot.... was in the prelude
  2. Spotted Ethirty Andy in the 316i tearing down the motorway this morning. That car is tidy as!
  3. random shot, but checked you dont have a loose spark plug or something silly?
  4. Personally having owned a 323i, i wouldnt bother downgrading just to make it "easier" to fix it yourself. Those M52 engines are quite simple once you take the plastic covers off the top. Oil and filter is easy to get at and uses standard tools, same with spark plugs. The only difference i can see is i think the 4 cylinder engines use a couple of litres less oil each change, but honestly, whoop de do.
  5. Mega jealous, that is a gorgeous wagon!
  6. Just pondering out loud here, but is it better to leave the badge kind of easy to remove, or stick the thing down with industrial double sided tape? It sucks to have the badge stolen, but it'd be even worse IMO if they couldnt get it off, so youre left with a mangled badge and screwdriver marks all around it.
  7. Ive gotta say, they did a pretty thorough job if it really is the 318i shell... the vin says it was blue originally. Someone went to much effort to convert it to yellow, engine bay and all. 318 Plates and tags on M3?
  8. That 540iM is bloody hot.... yum
  9. Thats odd, the gas struts were perfect when i sold it. Also just FYI if it hasnt been serviced since i sold it, i ran Valvoline Synpower (5W30 i think) in it.
  10. 323i - CL1 Torneo Euro-R - 525i 525i was well under powered (same engine as 323i) but damn it was nice to drive.
  11. Really good to hear its gone to another loving owner, was really worried it'd get snapped up by some muppet that would wrap it around a tree. Off the top of my head i did the front lower control arms (including nolothane bushes and new ball joints), manual conversion (including all shifter bushes), the arm rest, general service (engine/trans oil/filter, spark plugs), and gave it a general tidy up. From the pics i saw on trademe i suspect it had the front bumper painted after i sold it? Was quite badly stone chipped when i had it.
  12. Bingo, is indeed my old car. Very nice, sad to get rid of it but needed more power. My only advise, please dont wreck it.... its too nice to turn into a drifter or some such rubbish.
  13. I just ran the vin number they put on the auction, why does it comes back as TECHNO-VIOLETT METALLIC (299)?

    Got 600?

Hmmm, Auctioned in 2010 but never went to auction due to issues over whether it was authentic or not, http://automotive.speedtv.com/article/auto...d-from-auction/ And last year it was on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=260791276579
  16. Barge Pole. High K is all good, if its been well looked after (My E39 case in point, 253,000ks, would never tell it was that high by looking at or driving it) but hell, i wouldnt touch an ex-rental (or ex-taxi) unless it was a dirt cheap runabout.

    Oil leaks =(

My E39 was leaking the the exact same spot, cover the same components/hoses as yours in oil. Was leaking from the front of the valve cover gasket, just above the vanos solenoid. Was only seeping though. It wont be coming up out of that aircon hose, and do not try and undo that hose (itll have pressurized refrigerant in it), itll be leaking onto that hose and pooling at the crimp. Hit it all with degreaser, then see where the oil is coming from. edit, FYI my leak was as bad as yours (maybe worse, mine would leave oil on the ground overnight) but never tripped the CEL.
  18. woah, that car really is poverty pack spec.... Amazing it doesnt have manual windows and steel wheels haha
  19. I suspect built in Hastings in the UK, not NZ...
  20. Bump. Prefer cash as i already have a daily runabout now. Poor BMW just sitting, chilling in the garage only being used once or twice a week. Price is of course negotiable for genuine buyers (sick of time wasters). Latest TM link http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=483443245 Edit: Just went out and took some photos of the front seats and the updated dash.

    WTB Marmite

why the hell are you so desperate to have this stuff that you cannot wait two months for it to be put back into production, but instead wish to pay excessive amounts to have a jar? Go get a jar of jam (or the superior Vegemite) or something
