oh not this sh*t again, Ron, seriously?! If you want to buy a new BMW with a manual box, test drive the auto one, and then tick the manual box on your order form. You'll now know what the car drives like, feels like and smells like, and you already know you want the manual... so test driving a manual version will make no difference. I also agree that at least in photos, the front doesnt look quite right. Almost like the front is from a smaller 1 series or something, and didnt quite get scaled up with the rest of the car.

ah guts, thought they had an electric fan behind the radiator too. must be thinking of something else. In which case its even more dire if the aux fan isnt turning as they are real prone to seizing. Not so bad on a normal E36 that has a main cooling fan, but if thats all you got...!

fan should spin freely (both the Aux fan in the front and the radiator fan in front of the engine) with the car off, by hand. If it doesnt, its stuffed. Pretty common failure and would explain why the car is fine when moving but when stopped it gets hot.

ive been keeping an eye on 130is for a while on TM and that would be the first one ive seen with the Performance brakes. Couple of 135is have come and gone with them on too. Wouldnt be common at all here i'd say.

probably dealer fitted. they are genuine BMW Performance brakes though form the pics. Bet its like dropping a couple of anchors when you get on the pedal!

can you spin the fan by hand?

i fit style 68s to my old non-sport E46 and there was plenty of room on stock suspension. Silly question probably, but are they genuine wheels and havent been machined or something?

i found replacing the front lower control arms and bushses on my old E36 made a hell of a difference in the front end tightening up.

my swift has no spare, and doesnt have runflats. just an expired can of tyre poo and a compressor.

Other than the exhaust, thats a great looking car. It always makes me wonder though why BMW didnt fit the sedan with a front lip or decent sport seats (or even just vaders). Any pictures of the 130i?

looks great! Well done, much better than the poxy old merc. Do you have more photos of how the exhaust runs on the RH side of the tyre well to the tips? It looks like the tyre well is intact, is the spare in there still?

Can you please confirm if thats a paint scuff i see on the rear LH guard, in the second picture?
