What is your budget and what do you want it for? Get something with 3 pedals steering rack, suspension, brakes, window switches, zf boxes
  2. bump they will be up on trademe when I pull finger
  3. When the rpm limiter is moved how is the fuel and spark controlled in the gained rpms? Is there space to add in new values? Are you using a wideband sensor to see any changes in wot? Or is it all butt dyno stuff What information did you give the tuner? is it just a general tune not specific for your car? Was your second tune one you personally changed or was that done by ecu connections as well? Thank you for supplying this info. This is all new to me and i'm trying to get my head around it.
  4. Have a look at the favourite e36 thread. Find what you like. Cut and paste to car et40-25ish is my guess at the range you can fit without too much camber and gaurd molesting http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....t=0&start=0
  5. not mine sorry and yes nick you are right
  6. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-303368990.htm i'm sure someone will want them
  7. With the help of a specially built flywheel locking tool (little metal rod found on my walk home)the pressure plate and flywheel popped off Comparing the old and new And the added benefit of weight loss Old: New: edit: Flywheel and pressure plate were later balanced. I was glad I did this as there was a little bit of balancing needed
  8. some 17 inch ones sold on trademe for about 500 a little while ago
  9. personally i don't like it But wheel specs are 17x8.5 et13 with 10mm spacers up front. Pjay you should be fine with what your after
  10. going to lay your cards on the table?I'm not going to go too low so clarence shouldn't be a problem. Nothing worse than a destroyed bumper covered in bits of possum Is it worth getting the clutch and flywheel balanced? i'm leaning toward it being not necessary at the moment. But i am new to this so what would i know
  11. Cheers Brams that does look like what i'm after. Before purchasing the wheels they were wrongly advertised as 17x9's. I was a bit worried about that but knew someone with style 5's would be happy to trade 9 inch barrels for 8. That one has as a bald 215 tyre on it. Not sure on the camber it would be running. But at this point it does seem like these aren't going to have any problems fitting. What effect on the handling should I see with the wider track width? Pjay your gaurds are going to be burning. But you'll be able to get there This is only half of it. It would seem that the alternator doesn't need cooling
  12. I actually quite enjoyed pulling it apart. Some bits were a waste of time taking apart though. I've been planning on freshening up a few things for awhile so i'd might as well get them done while I'm in there. List so far: belt tensioner shifter bushes clutch stuff flywheel seal pilot bearing reseal diff replace brakelines and fluid m50 intake replace steering rack line that's leaking.maybe find z3 rack possibly get injectors cleaned headers Any recomendations on what brakefluid to use? the car is used mostly for exploring the mint roads we have around the country
  13. Bentley manual has quite a good write up for m42/44 head removal
  14. My first reaction was that someone was having me on. 17x8 et20 they are just touching my un-rolled gaurds in the back. Haven't yet tried them on the front.
  15. fishing line could do it
  16. slight bend. after seeing it in the day light i'm a bit embarassed about starting this topic
  17. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=298929068 picked them up earlier and i'm a tad miffed off barrels have shrunk an inch and a nice buckle has been neglected from the discription. he did give me a $60 discount do i build a bridge or make a fuss? i'm a bit one the border as to what to do at the moment. photo's of wheels will come tomorrow

    I am locked out

if you remove the rear speakers in the parcel shelf and the mesh cover i'd imagine you can release the back seats
  19. rude bugger on the auction. i'd say he will get that price depending on how full the service history is. amazing looking car
  20. Are these really 3 piece? aren't the usual 17' rs's 2 piece?
  21. I imagine she is having the same problems i was having when i was buying an ae86. Just about every insurance company laughed at a 24 year old toyota levin being worth 15k and nobody would insure it for that value apart from nac
  22. haha stop scaring me i've got enough bbs's that don't fit or work. we'll have to see what i can do to make them fit
  23. lack of information was the problem. crack is on some of the spokes where they attach to the barrel. i think i have learnt a good lesson about buying second hand wheels
