  1. Happy Birthday Broski.
  2. This is so sweet Jon, I had a inkling you were involved in this. Bet it goes like a house on fire. Good stuff.
  3. Hahahahaha this is from the guy in his introduction thread that said he welded up the diff in his auto e30 320i..... My 2c, more about the drivers and not the cars to a degree of course as Louis297 mentioned. Before I had my accident earlier this year I won't lie I thought I was invincible, 10 years playing Gran Turismo etc got it into my head that other brain dead idiots had accidents and not people like me. This changed obviously afterwards and my driving actions for the better. I feel NZ's licensing system is far too soft but so does the majority of New Zealand drivers who think they are Aryton Senna reborn...... All the sh*t in this thread has been said before and then locked in previous threads rah rah rah we are just going around in circles. So I think unless you have something insightful to say i.e things Kis has mentioned or Grant, don't bother.
  4. Nice E30 you have got there, love the stripes, nice wheels too, they look badass on PFL's. Case and point, my car: I am umming and ahhhing about wether to keep em though. Thinking about making up some flat center caps though If you were keen to test some on your car too.
  5. Can't say I am a fan of any of the fluro, looks quite tacky. Love how the rest of the car is unfolding. If you want to do the headlights, try yellow stained glass paint instead, least you won't have to worry about stickers.
  6. Welcome, nice to see something different on the forum. Us Wellington guys are thinking about a cruise around the 23/24th weekend of January, you should try your best to come along. Keep your eyes peeled for a meeting thread soonish with details.
  7. Same here, I also regulary drive two late model Ford's, obviously I feel far safer in them but the E30 deserves attention, no stability control etc to save your ass. Study is bullshit, stating the obvious, some people obviously have far too much time on their hands. RAHRAHRAH End thread/
  8. ^ I have a mig welder, I have only mastered 'bird sh*t' welds haha. I think for now I will just leave it to the pro's. Oh and if that post was confusing, the car is going in on the 7th and it is only in there for one day, so no time at all, if that was read wrong.
  9. $350 ish to remove all the rust, will be done on the 7th of Jan = chur. The dude reckons it was from a leak somewhere, I think otherwise, didn't help I noticed the rubber bung around the loom -> engine bay seal wasn't even attached Pulling the dash today to remove rest of sound deadening + check seals around heater hoses for leaks, the fun continues, this time next week I will find something else that needs fixing, join me again same time, same shitty channel.

  11. Love this. What bimmersport (for me) is/was all about, learning so much stuff. Well done on getting it all sorted. And remember quote of the year a la Apex: E30, its not a car it is an education
  12. Don't worry Clint, the guy is obviously brain dead, he is selling a High School Musical Duvet Set too. Case and point.
  13. ^^ Have one side of the bead sitting in the groove in the seal, then with your knife, lever the other side of the seal over the bead and it should lock in, with a sliding motion as the bead presses into the seal as you move up/down the window.
  14. Blunt Butter Knife + Patience + CRC/insert appropriate lubricant here: = Success. Or go buy the proper tool from Ripco and do it fast as. Took me about 3 hours to do front and back windows, I did it on a ultra hot day so the sun helped soften the rubber, maybe wait for a blazing hot day in Dorkland Hook one side into the seal then work on sliding the other in, and swap sides for the corners, it will work, just is a PITA job. Hope that helps Ashkan.
  15. Adjust the handbrake with a screw driver in one of the wheel nut holes, look in a manual to see which one it is. Then it will loosen the hand brake and you can pull the disc off. IMO I have never greased any of my rear discs putting them on.
  16. There was one for sale on here maybe last year? Had hubcaps though, just needed a M60 etc to be a ultimate stealth bomber. In regards to E30's, a 318i isn't much slower than a 320i with better fuel economy so I guess the same could be said for anyone with a E34 520i?
  17. I agree with this. I wish the post whores would start following the rules or gtfo. Merry Xmas everyone, hope the forum goes back to the way it used to be soon enough, "just about the cars". Cheers, Nath
  18. Its probably the protective wax it came with from the factory maybe. Try brake cleaner.
  19. So ironically this is now a project again. With rust needed to come out and race seat + harness to put in I thought I would keep everything together, and suddenly has turned from being a car to keep mucking about with to a project again So the showroom thread has been merged into this old one. Got the new driveshaft all installed this morning and took it for a brief WOFless hoon round the block and I have no more vibration or funny noises from the driveline, so great success Should find out on Thursday when it can be taken in to have the rust taken out. In the mean time, with so much surface rust dotted around the car, all the sound deadening has been stripped out (roughly a 25kg saving) and will have carpet replaced once the sufficent repairs are made. Cheers to Simon* for merging the topics for me.
  20. Could you use the damaged bonnet as a guide to make a fibreglass one instead? / anyone you know that you could borrow their bonnet to make up a mould? could be cheaper in the long run than trying to get yours fixed.
  21. ^ Bugger. As I said in one of my threads, what doesn't kill you/your car makes you stronger. Keep truck'n dude.
  22. Best to mail him on his work email, he doesn't check this thread very regularly. No need to quote the post above either.
  23. Urethane rear subframe bushes cause enough vibration, after installing mine I noticed a difference. I would hate to think how bad a solid mounted rear sub frame would be. Is the car a road/track/bit of both? If you want to buy Delrin, your man to talk to is Henry, username: Incary, he has the majority of the underside bushes of his car done in it. He can give advice, prices etc. Good luck in getting it sorted. - Nathan
