  1. you get a real idea of how rev matching works when you change gear without the clutch.......next time you are all by yourself coming up to a roundabout or something here is what to do... let power of so you are coasting and take car out of gear, let engine fall to idle speed, put a little bit of pressure on the gear lever to engage the lower gear you want, and bring up the engine revs(slowly!!),at the magic number the new gear will engage without a sound or even a lurch...
  2. why not let it idle? So that oil pressure stays very high??
  3. 20 50 would be to thick imho, esp in winter.I would rather burn a bit of oil and get protection at start up..20 50 is reserved for my motor mower!.The stuff that Page sold you Max was that castrol magnatec??I am pretty sure thats what they use in my car.

  5. oil cap is at the back of my engine(m30 b 35)
  6. worth a try....the e34 battery will be well over a hundred...(if its like mine)Make sure the water level(distilled is best) is over the plates and give it a try.You will be able to go day to day but if a cell has gone,a cold night a short lights on episode will drain it.
  7. necessary...drive an e34 with e 39 wheels with out them to fiond out why...
  8. one of those beer holders would keep the beer warm!
  9. also on piston heads for around the same money is a e 39 m5 with a couple mods to reduce weight...is that our reference do you think??ie e39 M5 money?

  11. at the time the "jelly mould" bluebird was the most distinctive jap sedan by mile(if thats a recomendation!....nice engine too (sr 20 )
  12. its quite comforting(i mean that sincerely) that you can just order up parts for such a rare car that is nearly 20 years old!.
  13. pretty sure it was a black one ,but it could also have been that very very dark blue that almost appears purple.
  14. so we never had one here....i am sure i saw one in taupo once...perhaps it was just a std 850ci

  17. check the tourque figures before you relegate based on hp alone
  18. v12 has a much maligned reputation, apparently very simple to diagnose for thse who are familiar with its duplication
  19. does it have a self levelling system???(leaking shocks ouch)
  20. thats one reason why the tour de france is so interesting, liggett and his mate know so much about the sport, and there is obviuosly some very good info coming through on the local area as the tour passes through...I might consult with you Martyn on HD I will prooly get uhf freeview too but not quite sure i will hook a freeview box a sky box and a dvd recorder and the samsung all up to be linked yet seperate(plus a split off to the other tv)
  21. what is your HD setup?I hate the "phelps" hype.....And the lack of imagination of the director/producers...the womens road race was at a very interesting point the other night,so they cut away from it and go to NZ vs Brazil in the soccer....why not give us slightly delayed coverage of the next event. They came back to the cycling but I am sure they missed a bit out,and of course the suspense of the chase had gone....LAME
  22. rare means nothing....there has to be someone who wants it first.Rare and desireable...that equals money
