I think the e30 would have had several different stereos fitted.My 1990 535 has a sony head unit as std,and there was a 318 I think we were discuccing the other day which seemed to have exactly the same unit as mine.As long as you can trace the wiring i beleive there is no reason why you couldnt fit any single din unit in.If you are fitting another bmw unit in you may even be able to buy an adapter from the dealer!

true for me!,some e34s were relatively low production runs....does that make them special....yes in my book but only if real, same as the way you guys argue about M 325's.I mean if you had a E34 540 six speed rhd touring you are one of 62 in the world...thats a special car to me.oh look there goes the 6 15 expresss to the wairarapa.....

service history is important,overll condition is very important,how car drives and result of pre purchase equally important of o/a condition.The main downside of A import is ..it may have only done 80 000 ks but all of them are low temp,low speed,long idle cycles.....probably more wear on the engine than simons nearly 400 000 k 540.So NZ new for me,and i will pay for it if it checks out in all other respects.

I spose in hindsight startting with a M5 would have been easier....but they had a S/C540 so....I was at the stage where if I read gal one more time.......

they are COMPLETELY different cars..is the 540 a manual?Do my eyes deceive me or are they actually throwing stars(the wheels)?Could be $2000 dollars worth of wheels if the right people were to bid for em...Take the 540 for a drive..the difference to the E30 will be night and day. Dont know if its just the angle but the 540 should have the W I D E grill not the neat narrow(e 30 ish) one

correct..... for example....in aussie the 540 LE is still regularly advertised for high 20s even low thirties...there is a 540-6 for sale on trademe for 17500
