can always do better.I think its amusing at times when most of us do own high kilometre cars, and spend time and effort keeping our cars as they should, that we are so suspicious of other high mileage cars.I think the overall condition of this car speaks volumes about its overall care.An e60 is a much different proposition than a e 39 or an e46 neither would offer the level of sophisticationan e60 would offer.

if it is priced according ly go for it...i would think the transmission is the first suspect. If everything still works its a lot of car for the money. And the 3 litre diesel is a nice engine, torque torque and more torque, smooth quiet and frugal. Then its just normal 5 series stuff.

a secong hand one is probaba\ly onn borrowed time too unless it can be established its new(er)
-
that doesnt sound bad to me!As you say NZ roads are all hilly and windy and windy(as in moving air).a far cry from a flat smooth windless autobahn at 90km hr

its an alarm/imobiliser

yes a 530d will be 10000 more than a 530i.

you begin to realise that a lot of water falls on those hills back there eh?

have driven a 530d and lately a 525it,both NZ new.The touring was absolutley loaded had every option i think ,lane deviation, dynamic dr,HUD,navigation, comfort seats,(heated and ventlated and massage) and much more. While that was appealng in its own way i am really after a wee bit more room than the 120,but i still want something thats a wee bit different and or dynamic,or both.Didnt realise how L O N G the tourings were.So i am still looking.Have got my eye on a 535d.After the diesel i was a bit surprised at the fuel consumption of the 525,but i dont really trust the OBC on a test drive car.I was also pleasantly surprised by the auto.Dont love them but could live with one Might have to see if i can find a highish spec 3 series touring to try
-
any real world experience here with these?iddeally would be a 530d but now that i am a torque addict a 545 or 550 might fit the bill

e32 and e34 share many parts,esp say a 535 and 735.m30 are a sweet engine but thirsty.a later model e34 525 would prolly be the pick(m50)
-
value for money a 7 series is prolly the way to go.as they are even less popular than 5 series.
-
ahh i see i was thinking you were talking the other way around!I agree totally
-
my guess is all the time
-
please explain.I think 30 k is the upper limit for e 39 m5 now esp a pre facelift one.Why cant someone who has the resources to buy and run a bloody expensive car not take some decent pics
-
the worst thing about this is within the industry there is no trust.I was once told by a front counter boy that i was dreaming if i thought that even half of the work written on the invoice was actually done!
-
dont worry it happens to other cars too,i received the same phone call, the wifes Suzuki swift did the same...and it still wont start after charging battery overnight.....
-
