  1. you have had those wheels on a few cars now?Did you ever have them on the Hartge?
  2. brake light warning could be the brake light switch
  3. thyey arent that bad.they have street tyres and not much clearance. It doesnt actually take much to stop a "proper "4wd either. Its mostly about the tyres
  4. M60?I may be wrong but the V8s prolly use a large case diff for a reason. The torque may be a killer. You will have a sprightly m60 tho cos the usual diff ratio for M60 is uussualy very high, 2.9 i think in the e34!
  5. tyou will be pleased to see this post then http://www.bimmernut.com/forum/5-series-bm...-000-miles.html that site was a huge resource once,i think its a little quiet now
  6. we had an "amon" corona ,was quite a nice car actually, the nicest front wheel dr car i have driven, tho prolly the least powerful too
  7. be careful you will find that 5 series are very seductive cars....the best thing about e34s is that there are quite a few around that have been well cared for ALL their life There are still really nice stock ones to be had
  8. one of the best things about e 34s is there is a huge pool pf knowledge out there
  9. It took me a year to find my 535 manual, and over the course of many more years i drove the two E34 540 six speeds in Wellington ,neither were in as good cond as my 535.The e39 540 six speed was a friend of a friend.Oh and there is (or was) a white E34 540 six speed for sale in Welly recently.I got my 535 from Auckland
  10. afaik e34 540 with traction control dont have lsd.Use one off hte vin decoders to see what options you have.Someone may have added one of course
  11. e 34 much more seat of the pants car than a e39,I have driven an e34 535i manual,a e34 540 6 speed manual ans a e39 six speed manual...my pick for daily driver,e34 540 six speed,my pick for overall fun,e34 535i manual,my pick for nicest car e39 540 six speed, but for me they TOO nice. i would love to see some pics incl a couple of internal ones.
  14. have you tried a "jump start" without the actual start bit?Ie hook up a known good battery to yours?
  15. fusible link is ussually in a big plastic sheath near the battery.its a big fuse to protect the whole system, sometimes they can crack
  16. if you have a really good battery to jump start the first thing i would do is to connect the good battery to yours and see if everything electrical is working again.I wouldnt jump start.a 7 series.Maybe try disconnecting the battery and charging it in place. If you do need to jump start read up on how to minimize the voltage spike risks
  17. all i can suggest is to leave it till the battery is fully charged. If it says the battery is fully charged it sounds like you have a bad connection(maybe fusible link) problem
  18. you may pay a bit more but i will always take my BMW to a BMW workshop. My bmw will never grace the interior of the corner garage or pitstop, unless its something they specialise in like exhausts or similar
  19. thats how cars get new owners every 6 months! fwiw i was the 4th reg owner of my 1990 535 which i bought in about 2002,and i am the 2 reg owner of my 2005 120d
