Not according to my WOF guy, but I'm not entirely sure.

How about 90km/h into a tree in an e30??? My g/f walked away, but head and muscular injuries have meant off work for 6 months so far. Still has problems esp memory and concentration ones due to head injury, but at least she's more or less back to normal and in one piece. Car not so lucky. Looks like someone punched it in the face.

What is the claimed power and torque increase from the chip?
-
Thanks dude - legend. BTW - mine's slightly different - the mounts at the end of the bar bolt into the side of the chassis rail, not the bottom, and are hook-shaped so you can put the bolts in part way, hook the guard over them, and then the weight is off to do all the bolts up. 9.8kg - thats alot. Wonder how much weaker it'd be with some speed holes???

Yeah that's the one I want. I don't think we got the Real OEM one here in nz, and in anycase it looks like a piece of crap. (I got that far myself Ollie and goddamn google images is the poo for pics of this). That would be cool Andy - don't worry about the paint unless you were doing it anyway. BTW, I'm thinking about drilling some holes in mine to lighten it - what do you think?

I want one to email to the states and don't want to wait until I'm home tonight, so if anyone has a pic, please post it up. Pics of it installed would be good aswell, but beggars can't be choosers.

Hanger bearings between f/l and pre f/l are different. Just in regard to the spacing between mounting bolts.

The old man rang me the other day with the exact same problem. The car had been sitting for a couple of months. I suspected the clutch was just binding on the flywheel. (had good clutch pressure - every thing seemed normal, but clutch wouldn't disengage). Turned the car off. Selected second. Started car in gear carefully and drove off. Got up to a reasonable pace in a nearby paddock and put my foot on the clutch maintained revs and ripped up the handbrake. Fixed. (Gearbox and clutch stopped turning as rear wheels locked, but motor was still going so broke the "seal"). Never had a problem since. Might not be your problem but would be a cheap fix if it was. Offer him feck-all for the car and try it. Watch his face drop if it works lol.

Have been on the testing machine at Suspension Tech and found to be fine (no leaks etc). Rebound rate slightly less than factory (to be expected). Perfect for that lowered setup, or if your old shocks are worn and you want to replace them with a cheaper, and better set. Reason for sale - I want a much(much) stiffer shock so had new custom ones installed. $130 (Price drop) Will be at the Anzac cruise if you want to have a look and save on postage.

Last one I promise! Read the description. Who builds these bloody things?

Death trap #2 BTW, in case you're wondering, I'm not looking at buying somethign like this - was doing a search for Lotus-7-esque kit cars like caterhams and chevrons.

Link Would love to see this on youtube.

Sure. As long as its not commercial advertising. If you have something you think other members may want nothing stopping you putting it up for sale on here. In the past few weeks we've had a pile of stuff for free/cheap from two members moving house, plus two computers, a WWII plane, a hot water cylinder, a lounge suite and a boat anchor ! (OK the gearbox/anchor doesn't count).

Tardme Couple of my things in there. More to come incl. brand new LG Vodafone cell phone never used. Will bump thread when get around to putting up extra auctions.

Yes, but they were going to be doing W-CDMA in city centres, and GSM everywhere else. They spent $33m puttin gthe GSM in. now they are ripping it out to be replaced by 100% W-CDMA. Read the article next time.
-
Business section of todays Herald: $33m of already installed GSM gear is to be removed. Scrapping the change to GSM in favour of developing WCDMA. CDMA to be totally phased out by 2012.

M20 is an interference engine, so more than likely some damage will have occurred. To what extent can only really be discovered by removing the head. Hopefully only a bent valve of similar. Or maybe you got lucky. Take it to a quality service shop and get them to take a look before jumping to conclusions.

Hey Tony was the Maser we saw at go karting one of these? If so i have to agree with you about the chunkiness. Looked fat and lazy.
-
Well, that's no problem. I would have given you the subframe anyway as there's no way I'd be keen to start burning out trailing arm bushes. I have a 4.1 diff with the 4-stud flange, and a driveshaft and bearing to suit a pre-f/l 6cyl. So it won't fit your car, but the hanger bearing and rear half of the driveshaft should, so if you wanted to you could make it work. So you can have complete rear end icl. subframe, diff, driveshaft, bearing, trailing arsm, axles, discs, callipers, pads. PM me to negotiate a price.

I'm all for finding ways of cutting costs (corners?), but I have to agree. The only reason we have to jump through so many hoops to keep our cars legal, and get so much flak from joe public is because a minority of modders choose to mod unsafely and make muppets of themselves doing skids in front of news cameras. Please, please, please either get slightly higher springs that are captive, or shorten your shocks, or go back to stock.

Transmission Bible - scroll down to auto trans - great pictures will help explain what your mechanic is referring to.

Maseratis have to be one of the hottest sounding cars ever built. I've never been a fan of their looks, but that is nice. 8C is freakn hot too.
-
Daryl, I may be able to arrange to get it to the North Shore for you if you can pick up from there. PM me an offer and we'll talk.
-
I have a full e30 disc brake rear end. Would be a tad pricey to freight, but could possibly arrange free delivery to my family in auckland and you could pick up from there (North Shore). Let me know what you need - I assume Trailing arms complete with discs and callipers? As to the price, make me an offer. I'm trying to get rid of this wreck so you can have them for a tad under whatever the usual suspects are selling them for (not trying to steal your business guys, but I want this car gone and I'm not after a profit, and if I can help out club members in the process, thats even better).

Mines shocking - more the crashing and banging than road noise. My bilsteins are currently in the capable hands of Chris at suspension tech, so I'll let you know what its like when I get them back. he did mention that trimming the rear bumpstops on a lowered e30 to increase the travel can help the crash/bang effect.
