  1. Nice bit of country you're in G-unit. Glad its all going well. That's one hell of a spider there dude! Get Simon or Sam to send you the sweet photo of the sign in Paihia giving you props.
  2. C'mon Glenn, even in the real world people collaborate on projects. I have a good working relationship with plenty of people in my profession including the competition and we all help each other out to some extent from time to time, whether it be advice, staff lending, farming out projects or whatever. in fact this morning the competition rang me and asked for some advice on how to deal with a specific issue with Council. Last week I bludged some gear and another favour off another crowd. And I know you have the same sort of contacts in your business. If you are a leech and unable to have a go yourself no-one will help you, and it sounds as though Mikes uni class is much the same.
  3. Easy kids or I'll whack you all with a stick.

    Google Chrome

So its been a month or so. Who is still using chrome? Why/why not? I tried it out for a few hours - it was OK, but not that blazingly quick for the type of browsing I do. The nicest thing was the UI. (Which like most cool UI's it has been ripped into a skin for other browsers - iphone rip-offs for windows mobile anyone? I have it running on firefox now). So due to it not supporting the sort of add-ons I use, and not supporting SSL Client certificates, I went straight back to Firefox 3.0.3. Would be interested to hear other views.
  5. rofl. I have a friend going to aussie to watch the show later in the year. I'll report back what she thinks.
  6. Nice work. Identical rear box to mine. I would have mounted it closer to the front of the car, so just the very end of the tips extend past the rear kit, but that's my useless opinion and it looks good how you have it. more pics of car and zoomed out a bit engine bay pics to see how it all sits in there? Top marks! For those of you, like me, who want to see the rest of the pics, here is a link to the original project thread. You may want to consider making updates in the original thread to keep everything together. I can merge them for you if you like.
  7. Bent rim? Worn steering component? Do you feel it through your steering wheel or through your seat? Can you feel it through the brake pedal under very light braking at the speed it happens at?
  8. To the dump one can at a time? Try your local marina or boatyard - they usually have an oil dump so boaties don't try to sneak it over the side.

    inner tie rod

Inner tie-rod end aka inner rack end. You can re-use your ball joints (outer tie rod ends) if you can buy the inner separately. It's not a hard job, but you will need a wheel alignment afterward. It's probably not necessary to do both sides. Often you get tens of thousands of kms before the other side needs doing (not always of course).
  10. When I was a kid we used to make bombs out of double happys. Those small whistling rockets were badass too - bend them in half and instead of shooting in the air, they explode. Or break off the sitck and let -em go - used to fly in all sorts of directions - fun to dodge. They were cheap too - 100 for $10. Sure there was always the odd burn victim in the news. theres always some accident victim from some dangerous "sport" or activity in the news - what's new. I am against nanny-state politics. I am against wrapping myself or others (incl. children) in cotton wool. However, as the population has grown, and the culture changed I imagine its pretty dangerous in suburban areas with all these pre-teen hoodlums running around trying to hurt innocent bystanders and set fire to peoples homes, so there does need to be some level of regulation. When I was 12 or 13 we only tried to blow up ourselves, not other people. Personally I'm not that worried, I live in a rural area. If I want to blow sh*t up, I blow sh*t up. It's just that the "bombs" (fireworks) you used to be able to buy look prettier than the ones you make yourself. The ones you make yourself are more fun though - I'd like to see anything the warehouse sells being able to blow up a stump, or fire an orange a few hundred metres So I say bring back the dangerous stuff, just make it harder to get (firearms license or similar maybe?)
  11. The answer to your question is yes. Based on personal experience I would send them to Chris at Suspension Tech 0276354305. He'll chuck them on his shock dyno and tell you what's what, and will do the rebuild for you too for around $120 a shock. Revalving extra. He used to work at autolign who are the other crowd you could talk to. I am not sure if they have a workshop in Wellington (Suspension Tech is in Auckland).

    HB Josh (Hybrid)

Happy belated bday man. I'm with Ollie. I want to still be alive when the e30 is finished!
  13. the 2002 has always been my fav bmw, and this is just incredible. I don't feel lazy or uncommitted Cam - I feel the need for probably 2 extra zeros on my bank account before something like this could even become a notion. So much awesomeness!
  14. As I understand it, if it has been perforated from factory (like the ski hole) its OK to puch it out as it has been designed strength-wise to be able to.

    HB Andrew

Another year for the godfather. Does it come with added wisdom? Hve a good 'un. Isn't it about time you stopped making excuses about working and got on it with us?
  16. Sent some more e30 ones for ya - never know, might be what you're after.
  17. Half pie. Worth a look if you feel like it, but if its gonna be trouble flag it. Would hit it if bid ends up low at auction close - terrified of those auto trans tho after Josh's repeated warnings. On second thoughts, its probably cheap for a reason...

    JiB's POS

    Nice. I like.
  19. I've been watching that one also. I'm pretty sure the guy would take $10 or 11k if pushed. Simon, go have a look for me?
  20. I put my 6.5" in the factory location in the kicks. Had to use a 2mm spacer (hidden) and cut the plastic grills to fit. Then just used the grills that came with the speakers. Had to cut the bonnet catch down to fit.
  21. A story on Fair go this week like this. A dude bought a car, then it was repo-ed by GE money. Turns out two owners back, a sale and purchase agreement had been made on the car, the prospective buyer used the agreement to obtain finance and used the car as security, got the money, then backed out of the sale. Car was subsequently sold, then sold again, and the current owner got stuck with the problem. In the end, GE Money gave the car back (with some minor damage) after being taken to court and after a bit more prodding from Fair Go paid the poor guys $1700 legal bill for taking them to court. A $1 text could have saved him alot of trouble...
  22. Ha sondstreams lol. I cut the parcel tray in my sisters mini before I knew better. My WOF guy at that time was a family friend. Said he'd pass it without a cert as long as he did the repair so he knew it was up to cert standard, and tidy enough he could cry ignorance that it had been done if taken to task. I always asked first, cut later after that.
  23. yes. If you want a 325 with iS kit, buy a 325 and an iS kit.
  24. Nice Martyn - clear facelift rear light upgrade?
