Put one end of the spring in position. Place a small diameter pipe or similar over the other end to give you leverage, hook the bend into the hook on the hinge and twist the free end into place. If you are careful it is pretty easy and they "pop" in.

Is to do with how they are switched. Daytime running lamps are supposed to automatically go off if the headlights are turned on so that you cannot have them and headlights on at once. Fog lamps can be operated independently of the headlamps. The WOF manual spells it out in more detail and is on the LTSA website.

So is $300 for a 260 conv. kit. $300-500 for box only, $600-800 for full conv. kit. Used to be cheaper to go for a 240, but the race series killed that. I boutght a 240 kit for going rate, found a 260 one for the smae price, so bought it and flicked off the 240. 12 months later 240's went up in price by 50%. Thems the breaks. I would happily pay $1200 for a 2.7l stroker in mint condition fully serviced and low miles. Unless you get lucky, a $100 motor is probaly false economy.

Following an e30 with its rear fogs on is a bloody nightmare - they are dazzling. Most Pugeots too.

The law states you can use them in low visibility conditions. Rain is plainly a low-vis condition, the cop was wrong to fine you. LTSA says:

Feel your pain bro. Last night i was walking home from the pub drunk talking on my cellphone and two f**king pricks sneak up behind me, grab my phone and run off. WTF is up with that?

Bollocks. Busted on Mythbusters and also on 5th gear. Not to mention, most cameras don't use flashes anymore anyway.

I have 30 dozen Lion Red. That's 15 24 packs for those of you who didn't finish school. I am selling them for $20 for a 24 pack with all of the money going to my local coastguard unit of which I am a volunteer. I am not keeping any of the $ myself as the beers were given to me on the understanding that the unit would benefit in some way. So buy some cheap Lion Red and support coastguard. Maybe we will come and save you when you take the Lion Red out on your boat and get too pissed to bring it in. Pickup only. I will be in Auckland on the weekend of the 8th and 9th of December. Will be spending time on the shore, henderson, and staying at Waipuna Lodge on Saturday night. If I don't know you I will require bank deposit prior to me coming down as I don't feel like lugging a bootful of Lion Red all the way to Auckland only to have to lug it all the way back again. So far I have the following 24 packs sorted: Cain 2x (bottles) Glenn 5x (cans) JP 2x (cans) Andrew 1x (bottles) Ashkan 4x (bottles) SOLD OUT. I will have to check how many are left tonight as I have also promised a couple to mates. I think all of the above will be fine. Any more orders will go on the list and get first in first served. Thanks, that was fast!

The car is nice, and I wish you all the best with your sale. You have added value sice you bought it, and prices have come up for decent e30's slightly. But we all know what you paid for it (you made such a song and dance about it at the time), and I think you're beign rather optimistic at $12k. But that said, if you got it at a good price and make a profit by selling at market value, that's your bonus and all good.

Evryone that sits below 100mm mark
bravo replied to Matthew's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
+1 except that camber wear on the rear of e30's starts at anything below about a 25mm drop. You can go lower without negatively affecting geometry and actually improving handling with the correct spring shock combo. Inother words I agree, but camber wear does not equal bad suspension setup. -
35 offset, 7" wide hits the front struts without spacers. so you will need spacers.

Hah I've driven that road about a year ago when I was down there. Going the opposite way to you and in a rental car that has to be pretty much the worst car I have ever driven (I can't even remember what it was). Lets just say that it didn't go quite as well as yours although that wasn't from lack of trying. A few hairy moments when the tyres did their best to part company with the rims. Nice vid.

They are much heavier = worse gas consumption. It is auto = worse gas consumption. You have a pretty sweet e30. Unfortunately the 320 is kind of like the middle child. It doesn't have that much more grunt than the 318 but suffers from the worse weight distro of the heavier 6-cyl block, and it has only marginally better gas consumption than a 325, and thats debatable as the 325's torque means less gas on hills etc if you drive frugally. I love 190E's, but I do prefer the w124 shape - E-class one model newer than the w201 190e's. Problem is, you are unlikely to make money by modding it and on-selling, you are unlikely to save money on fuel, and parts are more expensive. If you want a 190e, and it is in the same cond as your e30, go for it, otherwise it's not worth it.

Seeing as I never was in the debating team I'm about to contradict myself: Was just thinking about the markup in the trades on materials (mechanics, plumbers, and sparkies etc) They are also around 30% plus they get return on labour. Yards only make profit on markup. If you look at it like that, its entirely fair. BTW, my charge-out is 300% of my wage. Even after you take out overheads, yada yada yada, I guess my boss makes a pretty good living. Good on him. He takes on all the risk. You don't hear me complaining if business is slow. I'm still getting paid...
