Seeing as the original question used H&R's as anexample, and H&R's are one of the best springs for BMW, and seeing as I knew this was on their website, here's some info: So as you can see, there is alot to know in making a spring work as designed. Why would you f**k up what the manufacturer was trying to do UNLESS you are such a pro you can get an equally good spring with a more desirable height. Just buy a spring designed to go that low - don't f**k about with compressing them. Also, I'm inclined to agree with 3pedals about the angle of the coils not making much difference to the rate as a spring is essentially a compact torsion bar - however it may mean you get coil bind (coils touching) and that does effect the rate dramatically. I found out most of this the hard way buying the wrong springs because they were cheap. now I have decent springs, and my car is still low and I would never go back.

Pump attendant? Just kidding man. Must ask my brother he works on a petroleum storage facility in New Plymouth and used to work on the petroleum delivery ships before that. Obviously this thread is entirely speculation, but the news reports about the dangerousness of the new fuel smack of ill-informed scaremongering. As with all new products (unleaded fuel a particularly apt example) they need to be tested before I'm willing to take the plunge, but these panic-merchants seem to be spouting rubbish not backed up by any fact.

Agreed. I repaired a soundly sideswiped e30 for $1000 incl. paint (Front valance, drivers door, b pillar, sill, rear door, mirror). Just did all the stripping and prep myself, bought new panels instead of repairing old, and did assembly myself. I think the drivers door cost me $5!

I know that car and those are 18's but the owner told me he didn't like them as the ride was too harsh and he's running spacers to make them fit (illegal without a cert). That style is nice, but do it with 16's or 17's.

r3v cars are all much their own style - it is very... well... r3v. that said, it is a very good way to do it in my opinion, and what I have tried to achieve with some of my own persona taste thrown in.

I've never seen one except for in a book. Link

Found one yet? What's your budget? The old man just told me it's time to upgrade two of his. Like a 95 Hiace 200kms+ and a 93 Lite-ace 160kms. Been in the company for around 7 years, so been fully serviced dring that time. Lite ace has a few supermarket dings so looking a bit old, but good runner. Both diesel.

Bentley Publishers produce excellent workshop manuals and usually cheapest on Amazon.

I need to store my car from the 4th Jan 2008 - 24th Jan 2008 in Wellington somewhere secure and preferrably dry. Asking now as if I can't find anywhere I'll need to book flights down and leave the car with my folks. Would prefer to pay you in beers or whatever and pass by an evening helping you drink them, but if that's not appropriate could pay a fair rental for the spot. Thanks in advance.

Oh dear, another yarpie... Just kidding - welcome, sounds like the beginning of something quite special.

Same car advertised in Classic Car mag for $9000. Looks like a good buy. That car is hot.

I was thinking that.

Yeah, mtech II unique on this car as it would have been a custom job being a pre-facelift. Looks nice, but I'm not feeling the wheels and cold be 30mm lower. Nice interior. I also am a mcduck fan and have boxes of the comics except mine are all in "very well thumbed" condition - no minters here. I'll dig them out next time you're up this way Ken. Cheers

Balla! Andrew - do it.

These fit. but are actually 6 cyl springs so will be a bit firm esp at the front. Ducatiss is a BS member.

That's why Orcon actually recommend you pay for their Siemens routers. They only stock the D-links for people that kick up a fuss at the cost of the Siemens one and say they can get a free modem from XYZ broadband provider. So Orcon matches the deal, but you get a d-link not a Siemens. I have a linksys at home - only had a problem once - think it was caused by powercuts and had to reset it and reload settings. Otherwise its very good.

Welcome back - hot wife, good work Ali. Thumbs up.

Cut it out and replace with exhaust piping (weld)? Unless you have experience with this you should probably be talking to an exhaust shop. removing the silencer may not result in better sound or performance.
