    WTB 5-6m boat

Drove a "ski boat" today - ugh! I know I'm spoilt with lots of time on high-powered, near-new, deep-vee RHIBs and jetboats at work, but this was truly awful. So now I've added a couple of Buccaneers to the list. Away for the next 5 days so search continues next week...

    WTB 5-6m boat

Cheers Nathan. There's not alot around in the good, solid, older stuff in decent condition. It almost seems the newer the boat, the cheaper they get. I've got my eye on a couple of the Aussie-built Haines Signature 520's at around $20-23k via a dealer. I'm also looking at an older Steade craft in MINT condition at $12k - it's smaller and older than I'd like, but it is the definition of immaculate. Finally I'm looking at a couple of ski boats that aren't real sea boats, but fit the bill for the next 1-2 summers at least. Plus they look good in the driveway

    WTB 5-6m boat

Hi guys, I'm in the market for a boat. My budget is maximum $25k but I'd prefer to spend $20k or less and make some minor improvements, purchase some electronics, safety gear and maybe some toys like skis etc. I'm looking for something in the 5-6m range and need to be able to tow it behind a late-model Nissan X-Trail without too much hassle. I want a pleasure boat (not a fishing boat) for a bit of summer fun. Day trips in the Hauraki Gulf, Bay of Islands, and Coromandel areas, and water sports etc. Prefer cuddy cabin but would consider a bowrider. Anyone got anything in the greater Auckland region or in Northland that they think may be of interest? Must be an absolutely solid boat that has been well maintained. I'm after an immaculate example and I'm a fussy bugger when it comes to boats. Haines, Buccaneer, etc.
  5. French played a better game, ABs played a better tournament. The best team in the tournament won. As it should be.
  6. Yep, unfortunately that's the current code.
  7. I'm not a sparky, but it's the family business, so I forwarded your question on. The first answer was "RCDs are a pain in the arse in this type of situation" (where you aren't living there and so can't pop it back in.) RCDs are really sensitive, the issue is called "nuisance tripping" and the number of possible causes is large including the possibility that it is the fridge's compressor engaging that is causing the trip. Not a fault with the fridge per se, but compressors are commonly at fault on this problem. By law all new power points must be connected to one. The solution is to get your sparky to permanently wire the fridge in like you would a heated towel rail. Then it can be moved off the RCD circuit.

    Free Beer

I prefer the Epic IPA, Peter, but the old double IPA is good. Must try Renaissance. Took a girl to Brew who is into hand-poured ales and bought her the Moa 5 hop winter ale. Good move on my part...

    Free Beer

Some supermarkets stock it. Or any wholesaler with craft beer. I haven't tried it yet, mainly because it hasn't reviewed well. Boundary Road is just a clever marketing campaign by Independent Breweries as best as I can tell. It's possibly toward the premium end of the market, but it's only pretending to be craft beer. I'll probably buy some at some point so I actually know what Im talking about, but for now I'll stick to some of my tried and true favourite brews like Moa, dogfish head and to some extent Epic, etc. Been cranking the old speckled hen lately because found somewhere that has it on tap... Other beer nuts out there wanting to compare notes over a brew feel free to pm me. Ps. probably coming across as a beer snob wanker. Never fear, I chop back the cheap and cheerful the same as anyone, but a couple of times a week there's nothing better than some serious beer with serious flavour. There's at least 3 of us on Bimmersport with a taste for the good stuff.
  10. A mate on the Golden Bay quipped: "Rena's AIS status is "Anchored/Moored". Someone on the bridge has a sense of humour... At least the reef is now RADAR conspicuous."

    MR2

FYI, I got $2,800 for my pre-f/l SW20 earlier this year. Mine had more kms but looked to be in better condition than yours. So you're priced somewhere in the right ballpark.

As a consumer I find Apple to be taking the piss. As someone with a keen interest in business I think their business model is awesome. As a technophile I think the top end android products make a lot of sense and would buy the new samsung galaxy and Asus EEEPad tomorrow. As an iPhone 4 and iPad 2 user (work supplied) I think they are great work tools that are in general fantastic to use. The iPad especially makes great financial sense over a netbook or laptop in my line of work, and I couldn't do my job without an iPhone equivalent even though they aren't cheap. The 4s is more or less exactly what the original predictions of what the iPhone 5 was going to be. Again, as a consumer it sucks, but Apple absolutely made the right call with this release. The trouble is, I think the business model is only sustainable while other manufacturers are playing catchup at the same price point. Since this is more or less no longer the case, apple have some thinking to do. Typed on my iPhone, because I do use mine for much more than calling or texting. An efficient work tool.

    Fitness

Why not jam in on this.. Used to run 50+km a week easy. 174cm and 63kg = fit but to be fair too light. Swapped that for a diet of work stress, girlfriend hassles, and beer. = 69kg and no exercise regime. My mum told me I had my dads stomach which freaked the hell out of me, so resumed my old resistance programme - self developed and nothing special - and moved the weight from fat to muscle, so finally not such a scrawny c**t... 4 weeks later, still 69kg (success), back to acceptable summer abs and chest, don't feel like such a fat bastard, and still eating and drinking like beer's going out of fashion (aye Sam?). High metabolism helps, but simple cardio plus great form on basic exercises = great results. Gym membership = woftam.

    Is this possible

You can't have a personalized plate that is part of the govt series plates. The vender is gambling on either the buyers lack of knowledge or his own.

Yeah! I f**king love this! Nice effort.

    330, my version.

Nice attitude Yongxi. Controversial styling is always going to spark controversy. I guess the important thing is that we have passionate members passionate about BMWs. I think it's been ruined (mainly the guard rolling and suspension changes more than the wheels), but then there are people who think that about my car and that doesn't bother me either. And its my opinion. Just as many people here love it. Isn't that the point of doing something different? To see what the reaction is? So far no-ones made any personal attacks on Yongxi, so its all good.
