    FIAT LADA skid car.

Simon, do you have access to a paddock? - this is close to you? I want it, but don't have the time or the trailer to pick it up. Would be perfect for what we want.

    HB Simon

HB bro, I'll have a jager or 4 for ya. (its too late for a 9.30am funnel)
  4. Both still for sale! Black AMG Sultans green machine
  5. WTF are you on? I said cool engine swap. The correct response was: "Thanks for your help, I appreciate that you saved me the trouble of clicking the SEARCH BUTTON". EDIT: Self moderated lol.
  6. A lot (most?) of the SA cars were auto. Should be a good buy. Hope it still has the sump guard.
  7. ??? As long as it's been properly maintained it's easily worth that!
  8. If you have a complaint about another member, the correct course of action is to PM details to one of the admin staff or moderators. All information will be kept in strictest confidence and we will try and resolve the issue if possible. Of course, as the deal was a private one, if either party decides not to play ball, there is little we can do, although in certain cases (for example where something illegal has occurred) admin may excercise their right to ban a member.
  9. Property records, google, phone book, and companies database is gold for finding people. Slightly harder if they aren't on more than one of four, but quite often those four are all you need. Real lowlifes often on insolvency register too.
  10. Cool swap, you're not the first on the forum to do this. There are at least 3 sweet sr20det conversion done already. one two three Try PM'ing member iplezer. or visit www.r3vlimited.com and check out the m5x conversion section. Theres wiring diagrams in the m50 conversion thread.
  11. Fair comment on the former, but a tad harsh on the latter. I wouldn't ever go so far as to call the m50 a dog. It's a bloody good motor, doesn't mean there aren't better.
  12. Looks to be a South African model = good buy, top spec e30. Wheels and tech II boot spoiler not from factory FYI. EDIT - carjam reckons Germany. Has all the usual SA extras, so must be just a high-spec german built 325i.
  13. Hi Mike, Welcome to the forum! There are a fwe of the BMW boxes that hold gears when cold. The e36 ones on the m50 motors are reknown for it. They tend to do it after a few years, but not from new. I am not all that familiar with the 540i trans, but sounds like much the same thing. It is possible to remedy, and a good flush, fluid change and belt adjustment on the box may improve things somewhat, and will definately extend the life of the gearbox. If no improvement is seen from this, then you have the choice of living with it and quite possibly enjoying many years of happy motoring, or the box may be on the way out, which can be expensive to fix esp. if the repair involves a reconditioned box whether this one or a replacement. The other point I'd like to make is that, traditionally those of us in the BMW world have found that your average AA tech, is not necessarily all that familiar with the various idiosyncrasies of bmws and you are far better off taking it to a specialist from the start. Your money will be much better spent. You don't say where you are from so I can't recommend anywhere, post back your location and someone will point youin the right direction. -Graham

    gearbox oil?

Glenn, care to elaborate why to use the G3? Bentley also specifies API GL4 Manual Trans fluid. I'm about to replace the fluid in mine and will put in the G3, but want to know why.
  15. If you're that keen to hand over your money, I'll take it, and I'll get out my coloured pencils and draw you a nice graph. Bragging rights are half the attraction right?
  16. Ollie has them all. If you contact him you can just do an internet banking transfer. You will have to wait until he gets back from holiday though as even if you pay, it won't get sent until he gets back.

Graham, your Lexus was sold again in Nov 07, and currently wears the D0C1LE plate. Carjammywhammy
  18. Bah, not even 6 months supply each. I'd definitely rule personal use lol.
  19. elmarco's L&P ad got me onto this. Had to have a wee ROFL.

    Oil breather..

+1 Would have been my first guess too. Can be caused by other things, but this is most common.
  21. I fail to see eye-to-eye my 3-pedalled friend. The article states at the end of page 1 and start of page 2 that 19hp was gained solely by changing the manifold and throttle body. Considering you can pick up these parts for a few measley dollars on trademe, and can fit them yourself, that's some bloody cheap horsepower! And very little side effects to detract you from doing so. Sure the schrick is better, but I'd wager it would cost you 5 times as much to do for maybe twice the gain. I've never entered these discussions before because I don't know diddly squat about the m50/2 motors when it comes to this level of technicality. I simmply wanted to point out, here is a guy who has done the fabled swap and has the dyno figures to prove it works. BTW, I wasn't trying to point any fingers when I linked that thread - it was the first to come up whne I searched the topic knowing I'd read something before.
  22. Funniest thing you've ever posted. +100 points! And immediately -10,000,000 points. Hah - nice to see you around Gavin! I'd have to agree, except there's a street performer who goes by the name "Mullet Man" and his is something spectacular! Saw him and his partner in comedy in Cathedral Square a year or two ago.
  23. Haha, yes. There have been some rather strong comments to the contrary over the years by some members who claim to know it all. Seems as though the proof is in the pudding.... This thread is one example. People are entitled to their opinions of course, and obviously the benefits are based on a certain desired outcome (higher hp at the expense of low end torque).
