ROFL at the n00b method of tying the car to the trailer.
-
Looked wrong, but I checked the guys maths based on the dimensions of a US$100 bill, and depending on the size of his "standard pallet" he's right give or take. That's a lot of currency.

That's OK. Once again, "Uncle" Glenn to the rescue. Glenn is helping me with the above, plus selling me some trans fluid and oil I need, and a bit of helpful advice to boot. So as of Monday when I get back from auckland I should be full steam ahead on my swap again.

For sake of clarity, if anyone can help me, I require: e30 Flywheel bolts M12x28 1.5 part number 11221717840 Qty:8 e30 Pressure plate bolts M8x16 fillister head cap screw part number 07119919939 Qty:4 Also going to get: Getrag 260 rear seal (40x55x8 I've been told) part number 12053405 Which I'm happy to get from Gavin Getrag 260 shift linkage bracket Part number 1208580 Qty: 2 which I'll get if they are cheap. They used to be $20, now they're closer to $50. Thanks

Cheers. Thanks to Martyn for the chassis number (although this came up as auto too???) but by this stage they guy was ready to look regardless. Where can I get these bolts elsewhere? BMW want $6.72 + GST ea!!! That's $60 for 8. They are high tensile M12x28 1.5 pitch. Pressure plate bolts are only $1 ea from BMW so I may as well get them from them. Also after the bushes that hold the sheet metal console to the gearbox - $46+ or therabouts at both Euro Italian and BMW. At that price my shift isn't sloppy enough to worry about it - I think Gus repaired his with nolothane? Where can I buy some small pieces of nolothane so I can make my own? And Gavin has my rear gearbox seal at half the price of BMW. Thumbs up!

Gavin Bellar, or Gavin Dysart?

Bloody dealer refuses to sell me parts without a chassis number. Then says they can't sell me flywheel bolts etc as my car is Auto. Explaining I have converted it doesn't help. Pissing me off. Or even better, anyone able to tell me where I can buy flywheel and pressure plate bolts that are correct spec? Thanks.

Crap. I would have bought that a month ago. Dead cert. ah well.

ROFL at your vid. So youtube styles with the zoom-in of the screen. Not a bad gain, at least you know you're getting the most out of it.

There was a very tired LHD 325e on TM a month or so ago. Only one I've seen. All the rest were m3's.
-
Yes, but the belt had started to squeal so I pulled it off about 4 months ago, and it wasn't all that good. Was evident the reason why when we went to remove the gas and only a wee puff was left.

I love this vid

Yup. its done less kms, and already been dyno tuned = no brainer.

You mean the rubber part? Try any wrecker or Repco or similar - they're pretty generic.

ROFL - no never! I can't remember the last time... hang on. That was tonight. Dammit. Update:.... Day 2, Beer 1 Air con out except compressor Weight saving: 8.5kgs = about the same as all the IC piping plus IC, so about an even swap then for SC setup Day 2, Beer 2 "Engine Hoist" arrives Day 2, Beer 3 Slowly does it... Go Northland Rangi Tractor Styles!!!!!!! Day 2, Beer 4 & 5 After a few hiccups (mainly to do with correct placement of winch chain and gearbox not wanting to clear subframe/sway bar). Day 2, Beer 6 Motor out. Obligatory dragon.... Total Beer Count: 14

Couple of quick questions re inspection/service prompt.
bravo replied to BLACK DORIS's topic in Maintenance
Due for inspection II provided it's been reset correctly and not by a backyard mechanic like me Double check the manual if you have one, but I'm pretty sure that's oil, plus other fluids, belts etc. BUT at the end of the day, a car that old is well past its correct service intervals and you should probably just do an oil change, and anything else that looks like it needs doing. No need to rush it in - nothing wrong with the proposed 70km trip, but its possibly a timely warning to get anything sorted that needs doing. $77/h??? I'm probably going to get booted off for saying this, but when qualified engineers with 4 years of degree and at least as long in the job charge less than $200/h, and registered sparkies (who have easily as much responsibility when it comes to making a mistake and it ending in death) only charge $60/h, $77/h for an oil service is a bit rich! Don't get me wrong - when it comes to optimal care for my pride and joy - I'll fork out the reddies, but for an oil service - give me a break! -
Seems as though its not without its foibles, but at face value it seems as though its fairly honest, and possibly a good buy as long as you go in fully informed.

Actually think I prefer the dark roof - red lights, but would have to see another p-shop.. Def do quad tips!

I dare you to. I know your methods of "control" and it doesn't usually involve DEcreasing intake.
