  1. Ah it will not work. How lame. I measured up a local E34's grille. Gee... I come up with weird ideas, disregard this thread now.
  2. Exactly. Anyway, irregardless, I think it would improve the look of the car nicely, but I assume it is too large to fit between the bonnet and bumper... Theoretically it would look much improved, but this is not true to scale, so it probably would fit this nicely in reality.
  3. Loving the quality rear badge...
  4. well....... I am wanting to get one so I can measure up, see how its mounted etc and figure out how adaptable it will be to my hideous E36 front end, replacing that god awful E36 stock kidney setup and possibly the stupid encased lights with a custom setup of E34 main lights. I had a word with my fantastic panel beater and he said its possible, but find out how much the measurements differ etc, it would need a lot of work but what doesnt. I am quite interested to get something like that done professionally, I just get tired of the E36 front, and want a bit more E34 back into my life. I am a bit crazy clearly....So much for being a keep cars original guy!
  5. At least our fees go to good use then!
  6. Hey David I got a similar email the other day too. I found it very confusing, it was for a 330i I recall. Guess I must have looked at it some time during last week!
  7. It really annoys me how people proceed to replace the stock M3 Lights for those el-cheapo ugly ones. You dont modify an M3 like that! I guess if the owners are so worried about pathetic things like that then I would assume they can't drive very well as they are only interested in image and cosmetics.
  8. As per title, I am wanting the wider face lift E34 kidney grille Also after the black headlight surrounds. PM me if you have anything available, it doesn't have to be in the best condition.
  9. I would be tempted if it was a 535i.
  10. Lame, modified front and rear tail lights. Shoot it!
  11. Ah yes that one. Good score.
  12. To a small extent tips do alter the sound, like a friend of mine put a pair of dual swept tips on his Golf Mk2 GTI and it gained a a metallic ringing sound, but this was caused by the metal resonating more than anything in tune with the exhaust none. But the over all sound is created by the combination of tube size, header type, resonators and mufflers Speaking of exhausts, I seemed to be good at making horrible 540i exhausts that made them sound like a nasty HSV. I am still angry about that big fat waste of money.
  13. That looks to be a great example of a stock 316i. Well Done. Save up and convert it to run a M50B25 + Getrag 240 and you will be away with a real rocket.
  14. How do these lights look? Rear ones?
  15. I was not suggesting yours, but two sets of non branded BMW replica wheels I have had caused bad shimmy at certain speeds, even with good tires. Taking them off for stock OEM wheels reduced the vibration significantly.
  16. I agree, most sensitive front end on any of my cars. Definitely do all these things. I wouldnt use cheap tires, they wont be evenly balanced causing a shimmy, go for decent tires not made in China etc. The hub rings need to be exact, other wise your going to get a vibration easily. The fact your running big wheels with spacers also take the factory settings out of a wack amplifying any suspension issues further. Just take it all back to running some stock 15/16s on good tires and you will see how smooth it runs, smoother again with new suspension gear up front. Then go back to what your running now to see where the difference lies.
  17. The retardation of that woman makes me feel sick...
  18. I wouldn't touch replicas. Go for it if you like motorway vibrations and shimmys. You can't beat a true OEM or proper branded quality alloy. So much smoother and you known your treating your car well, not putting fake stuff on it.
  19. Hello Anyone seen an E36 in the Maledivenblau Metallic colour of any shades? For that matter any BMW models, as the E36's didn't come out with it as far as I know (Same colour as the E34 in my avatar, Maledivenblau Metallic) It's similar to Maldives blue too Did they paint the E36 in these colour from factory? Post up any other pictures of BMW's with this paint colour if you have any. I know the Z4's come out in that colour. It's just fantastic IMO.
  20. Hmmm I would imagine a W58 would be okay for an M60's power output. The ratio's could be better though. 1st is 3.2X ish vs 4.XX from the Getrag 420g that come with the 540is' In the supra Getrag V160's they are 3.8X in 1st.
  21. Can't expect much more from the likes of these people.
  22. As good as it gets. Immaculate!
  23. Hmmm, so I was thinking tonight. Is it possible to use Toyota W58 or R154 manual gearbox with a custom made bell-housing to fit to a M60 V8? Or the Supra Getrag V160/161's I suppose anything is possible, but I would imagine it would be the cheapest way to change a 540i lofty automatic to a manual.. since getting an OEM gearbox is next to impossible unless you spend a heap importing one. Thoughts on this guys? Has anyone converted an M60 to manual in anyway?
  24. I am quite glad to hear this, I hate stretched tires with a passion. Though, I have always liked lots of tread and an exact fit to the alloy.
