  1. I've been throwing up ideas recenlty about how to give my car a few more Pony's and I keep on comming back to the Toyota 3SGE engine, there a few points that apeal to me.... Its ~$2500 for a Gen4 engine with a 6spd box power is 210Hp @ 7600rpm (safe up to 8000rpm and 220hp with a few simple mods) torque is 216 Nm @ 6400rpm should do 600km to a tank weight is ~100kg since its a 4cyl it should handle better as the weight is further back no problem with the steering as the exhaust is on the other side The sump is the same shape as the M10 so no mods are needed for the subframe Pretty bullet proof and don't cost much to maintain Am I missing somthing?, as I can't find the swap ever been done before OR even being talked about OR maybe I just suck at searching google. pic
  2. brook, shouldn't you get a current WOF before you get new wheels?
  3. Do this tutorial to step 7 Then depending how you want to go about it you can re-upholster everything OR Take the bits off your coupe seat and get them welded onto the sedan backframe Once you take the seat apart it's very simple Here's another resource
  4. Its pretty simple, I can make one up if you want. edit, I think there is a writeup on a 318is forum, but they don’t go over re-upholstering the seats, also there are a few shortcuts that they don’t use.
  5. Yes it is possible. I had one set of 4door leather seats that I wanted in my coupe I had another set of coupe seats to work with I took the back off the coupe seat and swapped it with the back of the leather seat. I had re-apolster the backs but it was pretty simple, took me about 2hours to do both. edit- All seat bases are the same, the seat back decides if its coupe or sedan

I've been keeping record's for everything I buy for this car (except petrol) and I'm still under my initial budget of $3999.99 I've still got a few things to sort out, first thing is swapping the leather from the 4door seats to the coupe seats, ive started but left it for a rainy day. Also got the OBC to set the time, had to press the reset button heaps, then It co-operated. There are still some gremblins in it, The LIMIT, TIME and TEMP function's work but not the RANGE and SPEED functions SPEED just stays at 0km/h and RANGE stays on ---- Cruise control still doesn't work, not sure if its a faulty computer or faulty throttle unit Installed the under dash panel, have kicked it a few times changing gear so I've zip tied it as high as I can get it, problem sorted. Still can't decide to do with it engine wise, maybe an M50 conversion is on the card's.
