  1. Interesting about the bolts ... makes sense though.
  2. You can buy off the shelf metal brackets. The trick for you is mounting it. Unfortunatly youll need to drill your body. Brendon has his in front of but tucked in under the front passengers seat. dont use rivets, use something called rivnuts .. which are a similar system as rivet however the 'rivet' gives you a screw down surface you can attache the bracket too and remove at anytime. See here Ollie Mcdermit has a gun and im sure hed be ok to lend to you. youll obviously need to buy your own hardware .. but its cheap as.
  3. Interested in the BM54 dude ... need one for the e39. will contact ya when I get back from honeymoon in a week if thats cool ?
  4. keen for some instructions on removing the boot lid without spoiling it. I attempted it myself and just got stuck so put it all back together and in the box again. hehe. One of those projects for a rainy day I think.

EWS isnt too difficult to get around, Just gotta have a EWS module/key and any old antenna loop and find someone with GT1.

    E46 questions.

You can also reset the adaptive values if youve been driving it around town in slug traffic for some time .. Usually takes 5-10mins of spirted driving to wake them up properly. FBW is one of BMW worse desicions ever for the performance conscious however emmisions drives everything these days. A remap as wayne says is the only way out of it.
  8. Got an order of front and rear strut and under body brace for the e30 from our forum sponsor: http://www.driveit.co.nz In the post now and will be installed for next track day. If youre having issues, phone brendon and see if UR even make a e39 v8 bar. If not maybe look at getting someone to fabricate one up. Just a note about sway bars, they really do make an effect in sharpening steering/turn in however sometimes it can decrease the threshold in grip because the car has lost its flex to adsorb bumps better on the limit. This I found to be a pain in the ass on the e46 for open road driving. You had to be a lot more alert. On the track however its makes it a lot better. Something to think about before getting one.
  9. It could be a number of things. Best thing to do is have it scanned in GT1 or equivalent by one of our site sponsors. (HellBM / Botany Motorworx etc) Not saying this is the problem, but your EWS security system will not allow the ECU to fire the spark or injectors if it can read your transponder chip in your key or your reader coil is slightly out. This comes up as a code in GT1 .. It could be anything like that .. best to get it scanned to stop the guessing game.

  11. Some from me ... bloody hard to get the angles with every jammed in carparks .. but some of what I did get.
  12. See if you can grab a intravee II and KCA-420i for proper ipod integration. Youll love it.
  13. Gerry was saying today hes already turned down a 6 figure EU to a private investor. He was saying its the last in this guys collection hes missing. A very very nice car.
  14. Tom ... buy an e30... buy an s54 ... put it in the e30.
  15. My advice, do what I do when setting up the e30 for the track. Go see Justine at TyreTech on the shore. He is the man when it comes to setting up your car for road or track. Has all the proper gear to do it and great advice to boot. He looks after all of jerry claytons work and a lot of the race guys use him too. His prices are normal too which is very good considering his service. Hell be able to put your car on his laser alignment machine and instantly work out why your having issues with understeer. When I was having issues on the e30 with twitchy steering and unbalanced cornering. I took it to him and he dailed exactly the correct toe out settings and now the car is perfect.
  16. Looks sweet! ... congrats
  17. Why do you need more camber? The m3 geometry is excellent as standard. You shouldn't be understeering. I would look into your tires (pressure, rubber qaulity) and wheel alignment / bushes / control arm play if youre having issues. You only need to dail out (increase) camber if youre going to lower it, even then it doesn't effect it much. Running aggressive neg camber and toe out will likely cause more understeer on road tires.
  18. you know when I re-read that .. I had a blonde moment. I see how easily it could of been mistaken.
  19. Easy enough to press a ring into the wheels to fix up the center bore
  20. Most front BMW calipers are bolted to the front of the disc. Which would of given it away in the photos rotation looks fine in the photos
