95% of all intake systems dont do anything apart from give you more noise. Best thing most people can do is replace their filter with a clean one. Most cars dont suck enough air to even get remotely close to giving a performace gain. Let alone turbulance caused Cold air is a different story however most cars already that and people remove them to put an aftermarket thing that works less effectively.

My old 330i use to be able to pull away from those (my brother owned one). The e39 540 is more powerful. If you want something that has no f__k around grunt and comfort then the 540 is for you. fuel bills for stand in traffic from the shore to town and some weekend driving with 98 in the tank is 120 to140(tops) per week. Lots of people will lie to you and say they get 700ks per tank .. which is BS expect 350-420 per tank for auckland motorway driving. The car is heavier so expect stop start motoring to suffer more than other BMWs. However if you do medium to open road they are actually very economical.

Not this year unfortunily .. Last years didnt sell many so we canned it for this year. A lot of time and effort went into the last one for only 20 sales. Will look at it later this year for next year however.

Ill email andy and see if he wants to buy it back of ya hehe

yays .. fuel system has a base ... you have 3-4 weeks to get it back on the road for this feb 19th track day.

Being that your ass sits behind the halfway point it would have the M-Coupe's signature 'drive it from the ass' feel too.

nothing to offer in the sense of experience but did an introductory flight in a chopper. One of the hardest things ive ever done. And im pretty co-ordinated

Sounds like Blown master drum/piston and or seals. Hydrylic pressure is being lost as the symptoms with reverse issue. If it turns out to be that .. its gearbox replacement time or you need to have it rebuilt because the metal gets all through the gearbox. This includes replacing the clutch packs / fluid and a seal rebuild kit. Ive had a gearbox do this on me and getting it reconned was a rip off. I could of spent another 1000 and got a new one from BMW! as I found out. Better to just get a second hand one. However, all of this is just diag through the internet, atleast take it to a auto gearbox professional for an opinion.

Hey Kerry, Sorry you will have to put a price on anything you want to sell, the rule unfortunitly sticks for everyone. They will have to be removed from your listing if not. sorry bud,

. . . Personally I dont know why you dont buy a run of the mill hilux for the weekend away stuff and towing. And get yourself the car you've always been wanting for everything else. That way you dont have to worry about resale and compromise.

What I dont get is why the manufactures want to overly complicate the vehicles with having to re-code after a battery change or what ever when: Everything can be bypassed weather they like it or not. (people will always find a way to crack something) The general populous will in 10 years just stop buying your cars because they are too hard.

Thats pretty darn cool.

brillant! ... Its going to great to see it next week. I know how you feel about the rain thing ... Ive been making every excuse under the sun not to drive the car with this weather!

I got it new from BMW. no quite a bit if you scroll through that e46fanatics thread has to be done to make an OEM bumper fit. rewelded the gaurds with m3 (coupe) guards and I used the standard 330i sedan front carrier. If you use a m3 front bumper, you need to get the 01 bumper shell .. not the 02 upwards, as it has carbon fiber carriers .. and is very expensive. Personally, If I were you and you want the m3 look, research and find a aftermarket m3 copy. It will work out way cheaper. The cars also running m3 side skirts as stated in that before and after thread. Which are actually pretty cheap. (350 each unpainted) last time I looked

yeah sorry man meant GT48. They are 332mm which is 13.06†Curved vane rotors. Temp rated to 600 degrees So yeah, no issues from the pads on the road and the track. One of the great things and the compound is that you can drive them on the road without having to heat the up too much (this still bite well) however work very well on the track too. They dont suffer cold pad fade or extreme temp pad problems .. its the reason I went with them as they really are the best of both worlds. The piping isnt for pads ... or becuase of any problems .. its simply to relate the extreme temps the rotors get too now with slicks on the car. Cooling them will stop the spikes in peak temp. In otherwords .. why not have them just as much not having them. As for weight, it all will weight under a kg ... Im sure taking a dump before tracking it will balance that out
-
In all honesty not really .. it was a bloody cool car but I love not having to worry about things now in the 540. Also the e30 has filled the hoon void and is far more fun to drive.
-
will be done bro .. Im starting to regret posting the pics at all as its just a mock up for pipe length, and causing mass amounts of typing on my part hehe. Will chuck up the final version when its done.
-
Yeah if you can be assed looking up the spec of the GT42 rotor youll find theyre all of what you talk about and more. The pads are matched to the rotor also. So wear isnt a problem. They have been on there 4 + years with weekend driving and no issues. They are floating ... the dont have an inner face bro, The pipe will be directed to a backing plate and onto 'massive brakes' hat and disperse from there. Will probably look at this, Ill see how it turns out in real life. Its running e30 m3 struts not e36 m3. Massive didnt make a big brake kit for the e36 m3 at the time. Going OEM you payed more money for less performance went it came to replacement so I when with a proper race setup.

You guys are quick Just finishing off the backing plates in CAD hence the mock up for length. Gotta start somewhere. Will post these later when finished. Again from laser cut steel. I run GT42 rotors which are built a bit differently than the closed surface rotors. Have a look at the photos you will see the rotors have swirled blades to act as a 'fan' extracting air from the center and dispursing it outwards. While I understand with non vained and solid rotors you get a problem with cold air only on one section of the disc .. the design of these rotors allows for cold airflow to be disapated both sides of the rotors faces. What you speak of really only effects the non floating kind and those that dont disapate cold air well (cooling only one surface) Greg, no they arent fading, they infact take a couple of laps to properly come up to temprature. However Im running a medium comp pad which is pretty hard on the rotors with slicks. Air cooling helps sustain more reasonible rotor temprature with an medium endurance race pad. Fade only occurs when your pad give up / glaze / crack or another type is if you boil your brake fluid and generate air in the lines. Glazing is another cause. Using low grade or standard rotors can also cause fade with rotor craze or cracking due to over heating.

I grab some high temp brake ducting for some brake cooling for the next track day. Just mocking up the flow from the front bumper intakes. Bumper intake collectors

OBDII cable or Resler interface from german to your cars IBUS (internal BUS) It can recode your LCM, NAV, TV and other functions.

2. 2007 E90/E92 M3 – 8:05 4. 2011 1 series M coupe – 8:12 slight tangent, This time is BS ... a new 1 series M Coupe should wipe the floor of a e90/2 m3 .. The 135i is already just as quick.
