  1. My bitch for the day... I just replaced all key bushes and new control arms in the e46 and got an all fluids change. 2.5k later ... Sometimes I think I'm over anal about making sure everything is still new in the car. Love hate relationship.
  2. The dreded knock that just wont go away. When you have checked your Sway bar links are tight (not over tight) then the other one is worn control arm ball joints. Something that gets over looks a lot of the time. This problem also comes and goes depending on heat. IE you could take a short trip down the road and its fine. But it might start up after 30 minutes of driving. Then disappear when its wet or raining. to put it bluntly its a little bitch of a problem that isn't always the cheapest to fix as you usually need a couple of new control arms and wheel alignment afterwards.
  3. Thanks to Jochen for this one! Plug in auxiliary audio to your e46, e39 or x5 system with this OEM retrofit kit. Attached. EBADoc11512_auxin.pdf

  10. Chimed in It will work with a bit of work .. Heating and bending the edges to fit takes some skill to make it look ok but it can be done .. Or weld the gaurds with m3 ones What I did several years ago for some of the newer e46 members. Result .. M-tech2 coupe rear bumper (no moldings) Good pic of the front work completed OEM M3 sides / new forged wheel and coil over + sway bar setup
  11. Watch till the end. http://videos.streetfire.net/vidiac.swf?vi...f0-9bd700a2e1e9 Some of my favourite cars ever in there. So much love for the old corvettes, mustangs and GTO's
  12. What size wheels you after? Or if your not sure on that ... What look do you want from your car?
  13. My Nav install tends to disagree! I think it totally depends on the car, same are hard some are easy. Becareful you dont break the plastic rod inside the gear knob. Its hard to stuff up, dont twist the knob just hold and pull up and be ready for the black eye
  14. Keen, howed it go ... I want to see pics of your face, did you black eye yourself like the rest of us?
  15. Dear Bravo, Take this to said LVV Certifier and say "Im sure my setup will be sweet" /end of thread

    The Z3

that or join the hot hatch revolution over there. Oh and ... Gay much ?
  17. do I get involved in this thread or not ? This is how people end up with 5 spoke wheels on an e46. Or buy deep dish wheels and end up with a barrel and no reverse lip or stepping. Its also how people end up with the age old umbrella-ella-ella look. Then realise after a year they are over thier purchase they shelled out 2k for (or have bent them) and wished they got BBS or maybe saved another couple of thousand for some custom offset ones. Or use the US retailers for some qaulity reps. Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... Grab some from the US .. yes they do make BBS LM reps .. their are two types one not so good looking the other pretty bang on. Some places for you who do qaulity reps for e46 with correct offsets CSL Reps http://www.velocitymotoring.com/links/wheels.htm LM Reps Check this thread http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.ph...ea+corse+lemans Multispoke are not that hard to clean, you buy a Meguiars large 'bottle brush' style wheel cleaning brush and its easier than doing 5 spoke with a rag. You can also use the hose while brushing to stop any scratching the clear coat. You want the look, then you have to be ready for cleaning them every week. OEM brake pads are good like that
  18. Was in at Precision Autowerks yesterday and had a talk with Paul the owner and he showed me one of his customers cars. The guy had just bought this e46 m3 and which had generic carbon fiber parts on it, he had it in to get OEM parts put back on. I thought of this thread and took some pictures on reasons why buying cheap parts is a big no no. 'gtr' bonnet gap melformed curves (bonnet) 'csl' boot doesn't line up This was just the panel gap. The front had rough edges around the leading edges. The boot had dimples showing through where the boot hinges where and the carboon fiber and clear coat where both going yellow due to UV.

    Rampant Phase III

Nice work dude! What PSI wheel are you running again ?
  22. I have seen the cheap nasty ones floating around 1800-2000 mark. If I were you and money is an issue, grab a second hand set of better qaulty wheels from a known brand. Things to look out for however with the cheaper 'look good' wheels are cracking on any part of the wheel and/or through the main casted barrel. This is the worst that can happen but scarily seems to be more and more a common occurance. You wont get 20's on without modification to the inner wheel cowling on a standard e46 chassis.
