  2. In the music industry I get to meet quite a few NZ and international celebs / famous people. I haven't met a bad one yet, and they all are great people generally very hard working and humble.

    fridays's joke

Why men shouldn't write advice columns Dear Walter: I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes.. He was in the bedroom with a neighbour lady making mad passionate love to her. I am 32, my husband is 34 and we have been married for twelve years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that he'd been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. I don't feel I can get through to him anymore. Can you please help? Sincerely, Mrs.. Sheila Usk Dear Sheila: A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the jubilee clips holding the vacuum pipes onto the inlet manifold. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburettor float chamber. I hope this helps. Walter

Just write a letter to broadcasting standards authrity about deformation of character... It will atleast bring it to there attention to get investigated. These programs aren't allowed to do that weather to person was breaking the law or not. You should see how bad things got for a website I do work for from time to time when someone on a forum said something un true about someone and we didnt remove the post on request. Lawyers got involved on deformation of character etc etc.. its pretty serious stuff if people want to take it that far.

  9. Personally I think its about time .. as im sick of driving through akl city looking both ways in fear of being t-boned everytime I drive through an intersection. Red light cameras just got turned on today. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/topic/story.cfm?...jectid=10509953
  10. Youll find this the case with alot of aftermarket stuff. Its mainly driven from the massive modding community in the states. While e30s were availible in the states .. it wasn't until the e36 and e46 cars did modding manufactures really sit up and start taking notice of BMW. Your best place for the modding of e30s is europe (Sweden, Germany, UK)
  11. keeping in mind fellas its a lexus v8 not a bmw inline..
  12. Hey fellas, As you may have seen in recent threads I'm having issues with my e46 330i gearbox. Glenn @ Botany motor worx wants to try a 'known good' MAF .. Unfortunitly the one I had planned to put in to test couldnt be found. I have a bit of a big ask, I need someone with a 330i / 330ci that would be willing to lend me their MAF sensor. I would need to swap it for a week or so while we monitor things. I would by a new one but they are about $1000 .. its a bit much to just check if it is the problem or not. It would be professionally changed over at glenns work shop and back. This would be for the greater reseach of this problem thats been plaguing e46's around the world. And I can offer my services to the helper with a professional look photoshoot of their car. Cheers
  13. yeah is no doubt is something similar to what us lot are delaing with. Im actually trying to work out why even after the gearbox was built with OEM revised version parts .. It starting doing this... one things for sure.. Cars are just getting overly complicated .. blame the greenies
  14. this is a demo of stripped electroplated bolts and power coated finish Hi-tek had done
  15. electroplating all bolts / nuts etc and crinkle finishing the rocker cover in matt crinkle red or black. make sure its heat proof and make sure the cover is stripped with 0 contaminants, else youll be doing it again in 6 months. Problem with red matt is it only takes one spec of oil to screw the finish (I know I had this on my old toyota) Black hides and accidental oil splats it may get. other way is HPC coatings ...
  16. haha .. Well there a few cool things you can do around connecting ipods to stereo systems and other basic creature comfort / oem style mods that i'm sure youll be keen to look into .. don't discount modding all together
  17. that would turnout to be an expensive excersize ... $99 + $420 low volume cert however .. it might work out cheaper if you were doing a whole brake upgrade / suspension upgrade and were going to get the car cert'ed anyways. Just go to race brakes or Alert engineering for $300 odd for pre cert'ed ones like in my photo above.
  18. nice car you have there ... Just beware .. once you start modding these things you can't stop
  19. yeah same with mine. the dis-engage is if you look the engine revs drop to about 1000 RPM (depends what you reveing at obviously) then jumps back to 2nd causing the thump as the engine is being asked to spin back to say 2500rpm from 1000.
  20. The down change when going down a hill is normal.... its the 3rd into 2nd .5 sec delay -> disengage -> re-engage violent thump thats isn't .. you don't sound like you have this issue. Mine also when coming up to a full stop at md pace when its really playing up thumps into first then off into neutral hold. Keep in mind my gearbox is fully rebuilt with OEM parts / fluids only a year ago. Nah that doesnt work. The only way I know of to reset the DME and EGS learning maps is to plug a diagnostic computer into the ODBII port and reset them. It only works for a small amount of time anyways .. it isn't the root cause of the problem. Glenn has some pretty strong ideas of what it is .. which make a lot of sense and most people would of never have thought of .. and glenn said its just because he deals with these sorts of problems every day and has learnt the way ODBII Bosch / Semens systems work. I'm hopefully borrowing a mass air flow sensor off somebody see if its infact that. Will keep you posted on what glenn finds.
  21. Welcome. Your car looks great .. im not a fan of chrome wheels either but for some reason they really suit your ride. Good stuff .. nice to see a few more woman joining the forum recently.
  22. tires .. There is a budget tire which when I bought my e30 I couldn't believe how useless they were in the wet... even with and LSD which was actually making the problem worse. They get nick named 'Movie tires' ... basically cause you pull the most insane sideways in the wet, they had nil grip but lots of tread. The rubber compound was probably more suited to desert driving haha ..
  23. Westy shut your hole Think we may have found a mass air flow sensor to try ...
  24. There are some really nice Remus mufflers out ther that have a awesome note with no dredded drone. Woolfe mufflers off Dominion road sells em. http://www.remus.net.au/page/1103494
