  9. Hey guys, We are moving bimmersport to a new server tonight ... you can expect a quicker higher speed bimmersport. As of tomorrow. As always with these things .. we have to change DNS.. this always causes issues as while most people get the new IP via their DNS. Alot of the time Xtra and others can take up to 24 hours to propergate. Cheers Josh / Bimmersport admin
  10. Depends what your after.. To fill the guards properly you need: Staggered setup 19x8.5 +35 - 37(offset) front 235/35/r19 19x9.5 +40 - 42(offset) rear 265/30/r19 the higher the offset the further away the rim will be to the inside of the guard. The best alround tire I find with mild shampher are fk-452 Falkens. loads of grip and no nasty suprises other tires give you I personally run a tighter 39 offset but its because I have pumped guards. This doesnt scrape but its tight even on my setup Jump on http://www.e46fanatics.com into the showroomon the forum to drool at some other great setups. Its what I did I my first set of wheels.
  11. Thoughts are glenns not mine .. hes saying that he has had experiences with the bosch electronics .. and he had replaced a MAF in an audi the week prior with pretty much the same issues Im having. The gearbox trims counter for problems too .. and with incorrect data coming from the sensors .. the gearbox doesnt know weather its aurther or marther. I have used some other software and check for error codes... nothing found even though the problem remains. Having a really hard time tracking down a MAF for a 330©i so cannot start testing until I get one of these. Brendon and I did capture a load of real time data from the EGS. You can really track/graph everything .. however As glenn said unless we do a before and after comparison with known good components, there is no point even starting. One thing I do know is since I have been whinging about this .. more and more people have come to me with similar problems with their gear boxes ... everything from e39's to x5's and everything in between. Seems a common problem. In other news .. While I was racing it this weekend ... it gave me a chance to really give it stick ... the fault started to happen once things got quite hot .. then stopped again when things cooled down a bit. I had only one compression lock up down the back straight but I managed to catch it with a manual down shift and a bit of matching the revs to the drive train speed so no major
  12. Sound like flat 6 turbo porsche boxer engines in them. That and a lot of suspension and brake work...
  13. Well when you look at the likes of merc and the american and japanese manufactures .. All they end up doing is re-hashing the same blocks and adding small things like varible valve timing etc etc... BMW every 7 years (on average) goes through a completely new cycle of engines with a whole new design. The 335i 3.0 twin turbo is nothing new in concept however they have near 0 latency in the compressor spoll up. So the torque curve remains about as flat as their N/A engines. All this and still being more powerful and 'green'. Their new direct injection technology is something that I think is quite cool. Now to do away with cam controlled valves .. they could really start pushing the limits of engineering then
  14. well ... can see this thread went well ... :locked:
  15. that first photo of the Ring version hardly looks stock. Also calling a spade a spade.. It takes the yanks 6.3 liters to get 550hp bahahahahhahahaa Still looks like a fridge.
  16. Call someone like glenn to get it scanned as said before.
  17. Been running fk 452's for the last two years ... Im on my second set. I highly rate them .. My fronts (which are being replaced on thursday) are just hitting legal limits .. and they still work excellent in torential rain. Dry grip is awesome... they are not as soft as a direzza but not as hard as a conti.
  18. You could get around 270bhp out of a stroked m20b25 in 3.1liter format with a bit (actually a lot) of head work. I think the best bet with be to go with conrads option of the m54b30 .. however they are only 232bhp mind you the torque down low is quite immense and will work well in a lighter car.
