  1. Right so gearing up for my full nav install with TV module and ipod video, I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade from the standard e46 rubber wheel to a pleather m-sport MF steering wheel. Ill do this is a two part series. The kit you need to do this is: e46 MF Steering Retro fit kit 65 71 0 021 159 This kit is made up of the following: Part number Description Supplement Quantity 01 29 0 017 969 Stick-on label EBA-AUFKL. GELB 1 12 52 7 510 671 Jack mlk 0,25-0,5 MM?/AG 1 61 12 0 016 012 Retrofit cable set, speed control 1 61 13 0 005 201 Bushing contact 0,2-0,5 MM? 1 61 13 1 367 599 Cable strap L=200MM/B=3,6MM 10 61 13 1 379 833 Shrinking hose 1 61 13 8 353 746 Cable connector 0.2-0.5 MM? 1 61 31 6 949 754 Cover cap, sports strng whl multifunction 1 61 31 8 386 947 Connecting line, steering wheel 1 01 29 0 023 076 Installation instructions 1 I managed to come into a e39/e46 MF steering wheel and air bag unit for about $500 so that was the main expense out of the road. If your have/buy the steering wheel (ebay) and airbag unit (ebay) to complete the conversion you only need the following parts Part number Description Supplement Quantity 12 52 7 510 671 Jack mlk 0,25-0,5 MM?/AG 1 - For M47 Engine e46 only not needed for m54bxx 61 12 0 016 012 Retrofit cable set, speed control 1 61 13 8 353 746 Cable connector 0.2-0.5 MM? 1 61 31 8 386 947 Connecting line, steering wheel 1 - Only needed if this didnt come with the steering wheel 01 29 0 023 076 Installation instructions 1 - Not needed Will upload these later I'm getting the Walnut horribleness painted matt black to match the plastic surrounding controller buttons. Im told it will look pretty close Here are the pictures of everything. to be continued ...
  2. nice! ... give me a yell if you ever what a photo sesh with processed images done ..
  3. remus exhaust system... call woolfe mufflers if in AKL I wouldn't go to Al's mufflers ever again after the last two attempts of using them. Im sure they were good at one point .. but they are al_rangi now. first hand experience x2. they f**ked up my e46 exhuast... and my flatmates GSR system (couldnt get parts) .. both of us went to woolfes and they hooked us up good and proper.

"hey this car is very unique and i have not seen a nicer example of a bmw." I like his hair cut....
  5. thats ray ... hes on the forum as HELLBM. would take him up on the 2.5 /2.7 offer too .. you'd have a hell of a car
  6. Its probably not a lemon mechanical wise, but it would be interesting the readings on a chassis jig. would make an ok race car project ...
  7. no its a s50b30 s50b32 intake plenium not an s54 one ... that looks like this
  8. About 3k (1500 euros).... but its tuned for mid and high range power (longer runners)
  9. This is how mine started out life as! except you have euro clears and xenons lights .. very nice!
  10. know how much effort you put in over the last month to get it like that ... nice work brother
  11. yeah, few things a miss on it .. but it may have just been a stolen recovery vehicle .. certainly had a repaint at some point shock tower stamp is missing.
  12. andrew do it... then Murder out (black out) the 5er... roll pug camo steez... tuff
  13. Ask him for the last 7 digits of the VIN put it into here http://bmwfans.info/original/ It will tell vs BMW's database what it really is ... but yeah ... vin = win
  14. nice work glenn... Give us a yell of you want to take a look at ours at any point for ideas ...
  15. for once I agree unless you are confident in doing it yourself and getting a wheel alignment done afterwards ... pay someone to do it right. I payed $270 to have my coilovers and sway bars installed with wheel alignment on proper machine. But I also stuck 8k worth of busniess through them.
  16. The one cracks me up is the ad on TV at the moment with the ford that pulls on the hand brake and rolls down a bank. All that says to me is "don't buy a ford" No but seriously ... red light jumping is one that needs a real look at .. thats actually very dangerous.
  17. what I dont understand is why doesnt the LTSA just make it a warrentable item on the head light alignment board ? Pretty simple really, as most OEM's install them factory.
  18. hehe nah will just have to park up the drive. Yeah, booked into JC's tomorrow to get it replaced as the last time I used smith and smith .. they used after market glass and the monkey that replaced it left glass in the door _and_ crack my carrier inturn broke a week later. I only use OEM these days as this country really isnt geared up to handle euro's with great sealing windows.
  19. amen ... nice work fella looks great! .. i'm sure youll love the handling change .. and yes I think you summed up the difference for people who are scared of a harsh ride nicely.
  20. I must say I dont actually use my fog lights ever (being a totally different colour to the 8k xenons ) they look sh*t on. Well, how are the cops allowed to use fog lights? Check the highway patrol utes / cars ... I see them using their fog lights quite a bit. fight it dude. The law actually states your not allowed to use it in built up areas .. a motorway isnt a build up area .. especially in the rain. what they _SHOULD_ be cracking down on is the n00bs that leave their euro rear fog lights on ... now thats a real hazard.
  21. walked out to the 46 this morning at the missus house to find mine and theGF's flatmates car both had smashed windows. Mine was the drivers side window and hers was the rear qauter. Nothing was stolen nor the glass completely shattered.. one of two things I can think of was they were just kids F**king around or it was a smash then return later to rob the car after alarms n things have settled down. I'm currently picking each piece of glass out and keeping it so when I find them I can stick it up their ass and give them a barbed wire brush to pull it out with. second time this has happened to me this year (different location last time)

  23. forgot to add keith imported a set of the BTCC motorsport 18inch wheels (with the crazy offset for the kit) in for their BTCC replica showroom car but unfortunily it didnt fit the standard guards He should be able to get those wheels in that picture you posted Engine Vital Statistics: Engine Type: BMW S54 Max Power: 396 PS at 8200rpm (approximate) Max Torque: 400 Nm at approximately 5750 rpm (approximate) Max Revolutions per minute: 8400 rpm Cylinder Capacity: 3246 cc Bore x Stroke: 87 x 91 mm Compression Ratio: 12,5:1 Engine Layout: Six cylinder in-line Cylinder Block: One-piece construction Crankshaft: Forged steel part Piston: Forged slipper skirt piston Con-rod: Steel Cylinder Head: Aluminium, four valves per cylinder Valve Train: Two chain driver overhead camshafts with variable valve timing Cooling system: Water / Air cooler Intake system: Six single throttle valves Airbox: Carbon fibre airbox with resonance induction optimised inlet pipes Exhaust system: Multiple pipe manifold with silencer and catalytic converter Fueling Fuel system: Inlet-Pipe injection Injector: One per cylinder Fuel Injection Pressure: 5 bar Fuel Type: 5 star lead-free petrol RON: minimum 98RON Ignition: Engine management System: BMW Motorsport ECU406 with two powerful microprocessors Cylinder Firing: Cylinder selective optimized Injection and Ignition Ignition coils: Six high performance pencil-type ignition coils with integrated ignition driver Sparkplugs: NGK high performance Sparkplugs Electronics: Valve Control: VANOS Throttle: Electronic Throttle Control Networking: Ethernet Interface and four CAN busses Distribution and Control of electronics: BMW Motorsport POWER400 Control Unit Networking of all Sensors and Actuators: Ethernet Interface and four CAN busses Wire Harness loom: Weight optimised Monitoring Instruments and gauges: Free programmable LCD Display with shift lights Drivetrain: Transmission: Sequential 6-speed gearbox, sintered clutch Flywheel: Steel Chassis: Tyres: Michelin Front: 27/65-18 Rear: 28/71-18 Brakes: Front: Grey cast iron disc Diameter: 380mm / 6 pot fixed calliper Rear: Grey cast iron disc Diameter: 320mm / 4 pot fixed calliper Dimensions: Length: 4415mm Width: 1880mm Wheelbase: 2493mm Overhang: Front: 865mm Rear: 774mm Rear wing width: 1504mm Ground Clearance: Front: 80mm Rear: 90mm Fuel tank volume 100 / 120 litres Minimum weight 1,250kg 1200 kg in Nürburgring Specification
  24. No worries fella, Keith George (main parts guy there) is his name tell him I sent you and told you he'd look after ya (I know I always say this but if you tell what your project is he'll will give you my pricing ) I use JC because I have had nothing but excellent service from them, I have stuck quite a lot of business through them. I had a not so sh*t hot exeprience with Team once and wasn't interested in dealing with them after that. Give us a PM if and I can hand on people I have established relationship with over the years and who I know wont do you wrong. around the engine ideas ... the M62/M62TU 4.4 v8 is 146kgs with 286Hp and the s54 3.2 is 148kgs however 343bhp there is a video of a UUC motorwerks e36 s54 m3 race car with a race prepped s54 putting out 400hp floating around I will post when I can find it I was considering myself the crashed m3 CSL motor a while back but opted for the s50 as it was 1/4 of the price for our hill climb project it is far higher reving than the v8 could produce which is, personally, where I think you'll be driving the rev range for racing. (which is what the factory Z4 motorsport is running) Mid range torque is great .. but top end revs are where its at. The s54 would make a better race engine as they have have all the throttle bodies and oil squirters etc etc to do the task off the bat.
