Quick awnser, you will probably be ok with projector housing with a mask. The catch-all law unfortunately doesnt cater for this. The law is that HID (xenon) lights can only be fitted to a vehicle that has HIDs fitted to from factory. Can you retrofit, yes. Technically would it need a cert, yes. I ran aftermarket projector and xenon setup on my old e46. It past every warrent and only got pulled over once for it, but they saw it was projector and were fine about it. Read all about it here http://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/standards/LVVTA_STD_Lighting_Equipment.pdf

That or measure the real time data of each related component. However this requires knowing what expected ranges are from each sensor at given a load/time/operation. The TPS is only a digital representation of a mecahnical action. It is an adapted value as in the DME will read the voltage on key position 2 first start and treat that value as 0% throttle.

We were thinking about running something similar. But yea, sitting in the realms of professional events territory. I have run such events successfully in the past and have the contacts to pull it off. Its just a time thing, and getting a solid crew of people behind me to get it underway.

Thought you saw the light already?

All its about is who can get on the news and drum up support for their cause, or get noticed the most to move up that next spot in the party list. 80% of the news every night. The thing you have to watch is when consultants who get paid by the government to make new law for the sake of law making because of some new fad/fashion in car culture starts up. The drive shaft hoop thing is a by product of crap aussie car design coupled to noobs putting big blocks in standard cars. Now we all get to suffer and its now taken to the extreme.

Will help where I can over PM & between Jamez and myself we think we have nailed the perfect combinations as far as handling and road and race use goes. There are a few v8 swaps going on at the moment. Once the kinks have been ironed out im sure they'll start posting about them. There is a big rush on to buy e39 v8s .. people are getting stuck on the auto/manual coding and electronics thing which brendon and I are working through at the moment and can offer a service here. Nice guide Mark

Thats what im after ... the BMW part number .. I cant advise with out the BMW part number and I cant compare software types without it. The Bosch number is useless to me. So it still stands Glenn, the part number is invalid. Hugokan: Your welcome to PM me a photo of the label if you like. You should have a programming and part number label affixed to the top. Unless it has been replaced at some stage. If so youll be looking for a yellow label with "tauschteil' affixed on it.

Part number is invalid .. have a look again.

Depending on what your ECU is. Hell open it up / de solder the rom chip(s) solder a new socket and burn you a new map that he has tested on his dyno that works with your cars setup. He may not need to do that as your ECU may support the mods that you want by simply uploading through the 16pin OBD port. Some ECUs support a BDM rig which can also be used to bypass the limitations of trying to upload to restricted program space through the OBD port. Simple answer is change fly-by-wire throttle maps, VANOS maps, fuel and ignition timing, intake temp maps among other things. All of this (and is more worth it the better the flow your engine has (exhaust, intake, maybe cams and head work) to make more usable power. tried to dumb that down as a response.. hopefully explains it a little.

Even my e30 feels rock solid at 220 sustained ...... (on the track )

Think they've been having problems with a few shut doors and getting it past the monster of red tape the US brings to the table. They're now looking at putting the technology into generators and boats which is less governed by bullshit and fart tax. This is second hand information however.

pretty sure this

Tonight Brendon and I converted the MSS50 ECU to South African software flash. This deletes the Secondary Air Pump software as we removed the SAP and blanked it off with the SA OEM blanking plate when we put this motor back together. Also the car in now coded to a SA S50B32 E36 instead of a 318ti when we first coded the car aligning the EWS with a donor EWS ... my ego feels a tad better haha Cold starts will now be smoother. It also drive a tad smoother now which is nice. yay

whats next ?

Ray / Hellbm - manual conversion. = best outcome and price.

Brendon and I did 8m3 electronics, joe coded it. EWS delete requires editing and reburning a ROM dump. ASC removal is recoding. I personally like the idea of having drive away protection still in the car, people get all hung up on getting rid of it for some reason? You will also need to have it coded and programmed to manual before you rip it all apart, well it makes it a lot easier because once you separate the modules it gets hard to force them into manual mode if everything cant talk to each other. We now contract on referral through Ray to offer this service. Ring Ray

Dam .. was my secret find a while back haha .. Seemed the guy was over seas or just stopped using it. at the time. When I was keen for Style 62's was gonna ask as it was pretty much spider webbed up and rotting.

He would be after the one and only one worth getting. Z3 1.9ltr 2.7 turn lock to lock. Only way to drive an e30 Unfortunately, its one of those get in line type of things. I was very lucky with mine... kind of got it before people knew what they were or the race series existed.
